I have just seen several posts where the poster admitted that an ape cannot breed with anything other than an ape.

Well an ape can breed with other species but the possibility of that coupling producing viable offspring is low.

Apes are still producing apes today and always have since the beginning of recorded history. So what was the missing link's function and how was he produced? Where did he get his genes?

evolution is the process where a species can very over time due to the genes that are passed down. Think of it like how men bred pigs. Over the years farmers have selectively bred pigs to be bigger and because of this our domestic pigs are very different from the original ones. Evolution works on that same principle so yes apes would reproduce and produce apes, the variability happens if the population were to be divided for a significant enough portion of time to the point where the now two groups would no longer breed together.

If you say it was mutation, then where is the evidence that superior genes not present in the DNA of the parents can suddenly and spontaneously appear in their offspring? Where did they come from?

Mutations in genes are often created when the DNA is replicated incorrectly within the cell (ie you'd start with a code that went ....AGTAG... and end up with ...AGCAG....) These codes can do nothing, or they can cause big changes. Like what you see in people with sickle cell disease.

To suppose that, then one can also suppose that humans can breed offspring who can fly, can he not?

No, because that would require an enormas amount of the exact right genetic mutation and to have that all happen spontaneously is just not something that's going to happen. Mostly because 1) the genes would need to be perfectly mutated for it
2) we have proteins that check when the DNA is replicated for deformations, singular mutations in the genome have a hard time slipping past these proteins. The cell that had something like this would probably just get destroyed.

So again, where did Lucy acquire her genes? And if Lucy is fitter than her parents, then why are her parents still around today? The numerous contradictions in the theory of evolution are blatant and embarrassing. But the truth holds no contradictions.

"Lucy" would have gotten her genes from her parents, and her parents don't just spontaneously combust, come on now surely you know how silly that would be.

I study biology as a hobby and I can tell you that the theory of evolution is the cornerstone of modern biology and has been tested time and again without consistent disproving data.
