  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I googled Muslims in London in Google News and got:London Muslims donate 10 tonnes of food for homeless at Christmas
Muslims have donated 10 tonnes of food to feed the homeless across London at Christmas, religious and charity leaders said.
More than 90 per cent of the food, which will be given to homeless charity Crisis, will go to non-Muslims, with Christian Reverend Gary Bradley describing the drive as “all faiths working together for a common humanity.”

Except you posted in a way that inescapably implied it.

In the first place, it isn't for you to decide what I was implying (and I wasn't implying anything of the sort.)

More to the point, what I was suggesting was that the food donation story was entirely irrelevant to this thread. If those good actions apply to Muslims as a whole, then the bad actions of the original post do as well, therefore suggesting that you're perfectly allowed to act this way as long as you do nice things to 'make up' for it. If the bad actions from the original post only apply to the Muslims involved in it, then the good actions have no bearing on the subjects of this thread either and it didn't bear mentioning here at all.

Interesting how this happened and the only British source I've found so far that covered it is the Daily Express, which is not exactly what I would call credible.
I mean, I admit that I didn't look very hard, but the article itself has pictures of the events. You can find video of it, too.

And that's exactly one of the points here. Mainstream media will not cover this. It isn't politically correct. Can't cover up the photo and video evidence, though.

I think it is a lot easier for conservative Christians to condemn and demonize every single Muslim and lump them altogether rather than admit that not all Muslims are the same. But whenever a Christian does something extreme or commits a crime then it is usually these Christians who are the first to bellow out that particular Christian was not a true Christian in the first place.

Oh noes! Not hundreds of Muslims!

Out of millions of Muslims around the world. I am more concerned about the next four years with Emperor Trump and his power hungry conservative minions than I am with these hundreds of Muslims expressing their deep distaste for America in London.

If you don't accept it you will be called a Racist. Its a choice people in the West have to make; safety for one's own family and community or virtue-signaling. Hopefully people will choose wisely.

"Racist" is used excessively loosely and insidiously incorrectly as an attempt to "silence" anyone objecting to and/or speaking against the evils of Islam.

"Islam" is not a "race".

Nor is it a "religion".

Islam is an aggressive, warring, political ideology.

Kinda' makes ya' wonder if "political correctness" aim is to induce "oblivion" on Americans.

Why wouldn't this be covered?

How much food do I need to donate as an individual to make it ok for me to call for the violent retribution against, and replacement of, a foreign government? Or does this exemption only apply to groups? Or was your post just a non-sequitur?
They may be calling for it, but we and the UK actually did it in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., lols.

Of course it is. You can correct us if we get it wrong, but determining implications is a basic part of reading comprehension.

So we deserve to 'pay?' We've earned all past and future terrorist attacks? Those still living should be living under a Caliphate? Or is this just more virtue signaling?

Of course it is. You can correct us if we get it wrong, but determining implications is a basic part of reading comprehension.

To suggest an implication is, but they didn't suggest it. They made of claim of knowledge by calling it an 'inescapable implication.' Those are different things.
