  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1 John 2:27 is a statement by Jesus to his apostle John. No man need teach John because he was being taught by Jesus himself. But this scripture does not apply to you or me because we need teachers to teach us about God and Jesus.

If you read John 17:20-21 you will find out how important it is to have apostles around to teach people about God and Jesus.
John 17:20-21
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Then after we have been taught, we learn the full truth from the HS, and he confirms that what we are taught is true.

You believe on the Word of the Bible and pastor. I believe on the Word of the Bible and other scriptures and on living apostles of the Lord. That is a more sure testimony.

Once you have learned from the apostles, you can have a second witness from the HS, sent from Jesus (there is that word 'sent' again) who testifies of the truth of all things, especially that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the world.

It's wrong expounding of 1 John 2

It is John warning all believers to remain in what we began in since HIS (CHRIST's anointing) has taught us we are to remain in HIM

as this anointing is real and not counterfeit we do not need any man to teach us

It is not CHRIST talking to his disciple John

It is John Christ's disciple teaching all who have been born of and have received the Holy Spirit to remember what we began in and to keep EVER before us what we began in

if you have JESUS you have LIFE

What more do you need?
Ask Jesus, he is the one who called and ordained apostles to carry on his works after he left and ascended to his God and his Father in heaven.(John 20:17)

If Jesus is all we need, why did Jesus call and ordain helpers?

Why do we need the Bible?

Jesus, in fact prayed to the Father for those that believed in the words of his apostles, that they may be one in them. (The Holy Trinity just grew by billions of people.)
John 17:20-21
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Jesus needed helpers on earth, he was going to be in heaven. He would, however, send the HS (after he left, notice the separation of the 2) to witness also that Jesus was the Christ, but it would be the apostles and missionary teachers of the church that would first bear testimony of this truth.

So don't be willing to throw out the baby with the bath water to make some point. We need all the organization of the church to help us make it into the
K of G. All the scriptures, apostles, prophets, etc., etc., etc., and most importantly the HS.

These who are called are called by HIS SPIRIT

There are no more apostles and no more prophets

There are those who are teachers and evangelists for one purpose only.

To build up HIS BODY
But if anyone claims to be an apostle or a prophet and brings another message and gospel.

They are a liar

With regards to the 30,000 + denominations

There shouldn't be
And it wasn't GOD's intention that we break off into different factions.

Al who have been baptized into CHRIST know they are born again of HIS SPIRIT and are gathered up and out of the world into HIS BODY and are HIS BRIDE

They are not limited by an outward denominational name

They are not the results of the works of men

They are not those who have been baptized by men

They are those who have received the SPIRIT in the same way that HIS FIRST DISCIPLES received the SPIRIT

No man, no outward structure of one particular denomination can lay claim or deter any who are baptized and born of HIS SPIRIT

This is why it is an obvious fault when certain men claim that they alone have authority to bring on THE HOLY SPIRIT

No man does

No man can bring on or deter the HOLY SPIRIT

The "wind" goes where it listeth
This does not answer my question. How do you know that you are even using the right Bible, as opposed to a Catholic Bible (which has more books) or a different Bible which has different books?

Please. The SPIRIT and VOICE of GOD does not contradict HIS WRITTEN WORD

And HIS WRITTEN WORD does not contradict HIS VOICE and SPIRIT

The one born of GOD's SPIRIT can read anything for THE SPIRIT who is TRUTH leads us to all TRUTH (or the lack of truth) in all things

For who can even know the things of GOD which can only be known by HIS SPIRIT

Ok

Who are the two who testify even now?

Do you think it is only men who are sent as HIS WITNESSES who are testifying and making their plea to men to be reconciled to THE FATHER in THE SON

What of THAT WITNESS in us who also testifies?

And who would that be?
Who are the 2 who testify even now?

Good question.

There are several answers to that question.

1) Jesus and his Father still testify to us throught the HS.

2) JS, as much as you do not like him, is an important testifier that Jesus lives for he beheld him and spoke to him and recieved important information from him pertaining to the restored Church of Jesus Christ.

3) Other prophets of God in this dispensation that have seen Jesus and talked to him and received a witness from him personally and the HS.

4) Another interesting set of witnesses are the Bible and the BOM. These 2 sets of scripture both witness that Jesus lived and that he is the true Son of God and Savior of the world. They are important because the Bible testified to those in the Jerusalem area for Asia and Europe. The BOM testified to those in the Americas, who had no communication to those in the Jerusalem area, yet they bear the same testimony that Jesus came to them and taught them the gospel and then ascended to his God and Father and that he would return a second time to rule the earth. 2 witnesses thousands of miles apart with the same testimony. Interesting don't you think?

What of THAT WITNESS in us who also testifies?

That witness is the HS whispering to our individual spirits that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

I don't know if you're being genuine but if you want to know the TRUTH you need to pray that GOD give you understanding

But not if you want this understanding to somehow serv yourself but to serve HIM and HIS kingdom that all might come to the knowledge of THE TRUTH so as to be saved

It's at the cross that all men need to go

How can I respond to your post when you are clearly in error claiming that 1 John 2 was JESUS talking to HIS Disciple John?

It was John reminding all of those who have believed to remember what we began in and because this anointing is real and not counterfeit we do notneed for any man to teach us but as he has taught us to remain in Him.
Sorry, I did misquote this scripture.

John was talking to his 'little children', people who more than likely heard the gospel from Jesus himself. They apparently were hearing things from the beginning which he mentions several times. This annointing they recieved, or the teachings of Jesus, from Jesus, they should keep and that no man need teach them, for they heard it directly from the Lord himself.
Even then, John had to write and keep them thinking in the right direction. That was the value of the apostles, to keep the teachings of Jesus fresh in the minds of the people in the church.

But again, this does not apply to us, since we were not taught by Jesus himself. We are taught by teachers and by the HS. Very few of us have had the opportunity to be taught directly by Jesus Christ.

Did Jesus need the apostles, they were just men?
There are 12 foundations which represent the apostles teachings.

There will be no other teachings added where they are not needed.
