• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I just can't anymore, I've tried to have faith but I think this was the final straw.

I prayed abt this job, just a simple one at dollar tree, and i didnt get it...

Since I'm kicked out of school, the other one I'm going to wont start till January ...so i have nothing but time ( of course I'm gonna apply else where)

I'm just thoroughly disappointed...i feel like I was just talking to myself the whole time I prayed for a simple job...

Its not just that but other things I've already explained in ad nausem on this forum. I'll never stop believing in God BC I honestly cant... But I just dont and wont believe he likes, loves or wishes the best for me. God plays favorites and its clear I'm not one of them...i cant remember the last good thing that happened to me..

I'm just done with empty promises, and someone that pretends to care when they dont... I'm just angry at god and sort of hate him right now.. But I wont spill that anger in the forums any more.. This is my last post... ( ill be checking on this question and just browsing here every now and then..but I'm done)

See ya CF you guys were lovely :)

Please don't walk away from God when He didn't answer your prayer for that job. I've prayed for God to help me get countless jobs of which I got an interview to some but I never actually got it. But God used those interviews to help build my confidence for the one job that He wanted me to be in. That dollar store job probably wasn't the job He wanted for you. Maybe He wants you to keep looking, to persevere, to not give up, to test your faith when things get hard. If things went easy for me, I wouldn't need to have faith. I'd be content and happy that things are going great. Why the need to have faith in God to pull through for me when things are going my way? But when things aren't going my way..that's when God's trying to see if I'm still trusting of Him- even if His answer is 'not yet' or 'wait' or 'this isn't the door I've opened for you, there's another one you still have to apply for if only you keep trusting in me and persevering'. Don't give up. Don't quit on God. This is meant to strengthen your faith in Him so you can grow to trust Him. Don't be offended. God actually cares and hears your prayers. I'm glad that God didn't answer some of the prayers I've asked. He gave me what I needed and not what I wanted because as a Father, He knows what's best for us. ♥

And here is where I feel I have failed you.

It's unfortunate that you have given up on the idea that God loves you. You don't have to feel that He loves you, as long as you believe that His son died for your sins, you can still go to Heaven. I'm truly sorry life has been incredibly unfair to you and I hope that you will find peace soon.

I've been in your situation plenty of times. I have often felt that God didn't care for me and I tried killing myself four times out of losing faith. The thing is, I'm always thrown back into the ring and my faith increases again. It fluctuates depending on my current situation. It's easy to have faith when things are going your way but your faith has proven to be far more genuine than most Christians I know.

Remember that Bible Prophecy PM I sent you? If you want, I can provide you some updates as to why you should hang in there for a little while longer.
I feel bad because you lead a much rougher life than I ever have and youre still persevering... Idk I think I just need a little time ..maybe

I hope you won't go. I just got here.

Faith is a mysterious thing. It seems like it usually comes after we've been through some hard times and then we look back and see how God was there all along, using the hard times to draw us closer to Him and teach us important lessons.

Do you have a faith community? Sometimes when our faith gets weak, we need to lean on the faith of other people to get us through. Did you ask anyone to help you pray about the job?

I know one thing for sure: God wants to meet our needs. If He closed the door on that job, He must have something else for you. Please keep looking and try to listen for that still, small voice in your heart that will say, "Yes, this is the direction I'm supposed to take." You might look at a list of ads, and a certain one might cause a little spark of inspiration. Who knows? Maybe this trial is about you learning to recognize God's leading.

Scripture promises that if we acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will direct our paths. Try not to despair. He has big plans for you.

Hugs, Judy

Like I keep saying, depression is a bloody liar.

Wow, that's awesome. I've been having the same thought. In fact, I was just thinking about starting a topic here with that name (maybe minus the "bloody" part, lol).

You are so right. Depression is a liar.

I'm so sorry to hear of your ongoing struggles, Far Side. As I'm sure you realize, things take time. I always think of Joseph in the OT who got raw deals for 14 years before God finally came to his rescue. And I think of me. I've had depression for nearly 20 years, and I've accepted the fact that it will always be with me. It took me several years just to find the right treatment regimen.

Things take time, but when you're in the pit, time is one thing you don't want to accept. I have no words of wisdom for you. I think you're a special person, and I do hope you either stick around or come back soon. Please hang in there.

"For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Psalms 30:5

Like I said, faith can fluctuate. Just last night I lashed out at God for my situation. My faith isn't something a tremendous as you may think it is. God can handle our anger and will never give up on us.

Right now, if anyone takes away my faith in God, I would have nothing. No hope for a better existence on the other side. It's a Hellish thought. By all means, be angry at God and take your time in recouping yourself from your recent disapointment. It won't affect your eternal destination just so long as you have faith in His son's sacrifice on the cross. A soldier can be angry at the fact that he's on the battlefield and angry at the Generals for it but it won't change the fact that they're sending in the helicopters to get him out of there when that is part of the battle plans.

Maybe the reason for my suffering is to become better equipped to help people like you. Maybe it was to open my eyes that my best life is not in this world but in the next. It's only in recent months I have started to come to terms with my position in life. I'm still learning like you are.

Hang in there. Like I keep saying, depression is a bloody liar.
Yeah...i don't have much either...without god.. My life is so barren...i dont even wanna think about it :/ but yeah I resonate with everything you said.

It is good if you let go of the god you believe in. That creep is absolutely useless and very cruel. I had to do that with the religious idol I had been serving as well. It is an abomination that causes desolation. For the lie lies about God's truth in such a way that misery is your reward because the devil tricked you believing he is god and not our loving Heavenly Father.

So please do let go of that creep you have been serving and get to know the God of unconditional love and see how long you stay desolate for after that?

Job another man who suffered the lie though he was innocent of wrong. Take careful note of his words and see if such a reality speaks better to you than us telling you God is good and you thinking He loves us and not you therefore. Which is the lie keeping you away from His love and bringing you even more desolation. Job, and so many others I know have found God in their sufferings not the other way around.

So please topple the lie hurting you and smash it up against The Rock called Jesus Christ and see what happens to that anti-Christ you been heeding in your heart bringing you so much desolation. For Jesus said n the fruit you recognise the tree, whether it is good or whether it is bad.

I think about what happens not believing the truth of love but the burning horrible lies hurting you so bad and see if I lied to you about that and then consider that not believing the truth of God cuts you off from His goodness rather than bring Him. Do repent of those lies hurting you dear for if you give satan the change he will imprison your life forever with his misery that is his plan.

Just remember: We live in a fallen world that is rapidly declining. For many Christians like us, without God there is nothing to look forward to so we might as well put our faith in Him until He calls us all out of here. I'm more convinced than ever before that redemption draws near just from looking at the news.

Also remember: Depression is a liar. It tells you that God hates you but it's not the case. Depression told me that I will always be unlovable unless I have all these desirable traits and abilities. Lately I have been believing in it less and less thanks to God and the good people He sent me in life.

I also said a prayer for you. Be thankful to God that He sent all the people in this thread to help bring you support, comfort and prayer. If you ever feel down, feel free to PM me.
Man you have such wisdom.. I reread your post before this one and it makes sense...but yeah..though my friends are online( I text them on my phone..but I met them online) they are sweet people that care about me...and i can say that without hesitating. Thanks...however, I still worry about them leaving me...one friend is going to get married, another move in with her bf and the last is getting her degree in the mail and going on to better things ...i just worry about them forgetting about me...that will crush my soul..bc I really do love them

The apostle Paul teaches that he found Gods strength in his weaknesses, i.e, his necessities and distresses. He endured poverty, hunger, and sleepless nights at times, as well as persecution. Gods grace was sufficient for him. I try to follow that example.

I would just like to emphasize two things. First, remember that this life is not the end. We have a soul that lives on and the hope of a wonderful life in Heaven someday. Second, the best formula for fighting depression that I have ever read is to do something to help others in need. Maybe volunteer at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter, etc? Take care.

God loves you never doubt that for a minute. Sometimes we don't get the things we dearly want and need such as a certain job, just think of it that this wasn't the right job for you but a better one will come along.
I think so many of us go through times when we feel that God is looking the other way, we question our faith but God is always at our side. I have ranted and raved at God over things that have happened in my life, I have felt that He deserted me but looking from further down the road I can now see why things worked out the way they did. God has a plan for each us just have faith and trust in Him, I promise things will get better, it may take time and patience on your part but your life is going through one of the rough patches many of us have to endure.
Have strength and trust in God.

Sister I hope you are still here and can read what I am saying. God did not promise us a good life as the world considers good. In fact Jesus said "in this world you will have trouble." And we all do. I do, you do.

Remember where it says "Your Father knows what your needs are before you ask him"? Your needs, according to His understanding. You may think you need that job, but God may not think it is important. Don't pray for things that perish. Those who are Christ's take up his cross - they suffer. If you suffer and still believe, you may not feel like you are, but you are blessed. If you suffer and fall away, well, Jesus has a way of coming back for his own. ;) I am living proof of that. He doesn't like to let any he has chosen slip away. If you are his, I can assure you he will grab you back with talons of steel rather than let you go. He did me.

Lots of times I still have trouble feeling God's love for me, so you are not alone in that. It sometimes feels like everything always (and rightly) goes from me to Him - love, adoration: but I know I could never love God with one thousandth of the love he has for the little nothing that is me. This is because God IS love.

Christ's kingdom is not of this world, so the prayers God answers often have to do with bringing you closer to that kingdom. Jobs, they come and go. Life is full of trials and adversity and always will be. God cares about your heart, not your job. ;)

Peace. :)

Hmm, talons... Well nothing has happened..he hasn't ..done anything..he just let me slip through the cracks. He may have done it for you but idk about me. Though I will give church one last shot, and if things go well... Then it was me...i came back on my own. I didnt get a special dream, god didnt send anyone to speak to me, I didnt have any warm feelings...i just did it on my own.

I just never knew a relationship with god was so one sided.
