And those who have been born again who disagrees with you?Anyone who has been born again KNOWS their God and yes we as such "have skin in it"!
Yes, they were both created by God. But humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor.I'll correct you. Humans and apes were created by God. Separately.
And never the twain shall meet.
Just not to claim that what science says "isn't science".Yes, they were both created by God. But humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor.
You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion.
Ok. I respect that you think so. But, what do you think I should do with the evidence of the Geologic Column and the appearance that the earth is way, way more than 10,000 years old?
Well yes, but you see, you are the heretic from my theological point of view, even as I am the heretic from your point of view.
Now that we've settled that you are a heretic, shall we discuss the evidence for evolution?
No, I think Genesis was written so that the created would know more about the Creator. As to the age of the earth, I'll defer to the Biblical genealogists who put it from 6,000 to 10,000 years old. How old it is doesn't concern me. That God told us how He created us and we refuse to believe does concern me.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Darwin in heaven.
I might be surprised to find Darwin there. After having read James Rachels' book, Created from Animals: The Moral Implications of Darwinism, I have my doubts about Darwin.
BUT, if Darwin is there, then I'll do an extra jump and click of my heels.
What I want to know is: Will we find Captain Robert FitzRoy in heaven? I'd count him as the first casualty of the emotional thump which Darwin delivered to the world.
We're mutant copy-errors made in the image & likeness of God, are we?I believe that we were created by God, but like many Christians I belied that He accomplished that through evolution.
Two questions:Archivist said:I read the Genesis creation accounts (there are two of them and they do not agree) as allegories.
There's a lot here that aren't going to see Darwin in Heaven because they put their trust in science.Given some of the comments I see from folks in this forum, I think some people will be very surprised by who they will find in heaven.
And even MORE surprised by who isn't.Given some of the comments I see from folks in this forum, I think some people will be very surprised by who they will find in heaven.
We're mutant copy-errors made in the image & likeness of God, are we?
Is Jesus an ape?
Two questions:
1. Since, in your opinion, the two contradict, why are they BOTH allegories? Can't one be the "right one"?
2. In your second allegory (Genesis 2), how many times did God put Adam into the Garden? Genesis 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. Genesis 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Are you aying that belief in a literal reading of Genesis is a salvation issue? If so, please show me where scripture says that. There's a lot here that aren't going to see Darwin in Heaven because they put their trust in science.
And if a belief in a literal Genesis IS a salvation issue, aren't we all in trouble, considering Genesis is self contradictory? Are you aying that belief in a literal reading of Genesis is a salvation issue? If so, please show me where scripture says that.
No ... but I will if I'm asked. Are you aying that belief in a literal reading of Genesis is a salvation issue?
So, is it?No ... but I will if I'm asked.
Only in your mind.... considering Genesis is self contradictory?
YesSo, is it?
Since you believe in two mutually exclusive accounts for creation, there are only three ways to justify it:I believe that we were created by God, but like many Christians I belied that He accomplished that through evolution.
You lack understanding. There is one account of the creation of the world and one account of the origination of man, which happened on day six. You reject them both over the theories of man. By the way. There are NO valid scientific explanations for the origination of life or matter. Should we credit Him with this and nothing more?I read the Genesis creation accounts (there are two of them and they do not agree) as allegories.
And where does the Bible say that one must believe in a literal six-day creation in order to be saved?
