Hi friends, I would like to present a new course about the Eighth Day of Creation. We (me and our group) think that it is very important information for all believers of all confession. It is the contents page:
http://algart.net/en/8th_day_of_creation/
Unfortunately right now only ~1% of all materials are published, but we are working over translation into English and publication. I'd be glad to any comments :)

Moderators: if there is more suitable section of this forum for this information, please move this theme their.

"The metaphysical group “Magen” (Haifa, Israel) has been co-creating with God..."

http://algart.net/en/8th_day_of_creation/authors.html

So what can you tell us about that?
Not too much: I participate in this group only last 2-3 years. It is a group of Russian-speaking Jews, that gets and systematize a lot of information from God during many years. This course is only a little part of this information. It is, at the same time, a culture center and mini-theatre; every week people come to their bard club, sometimes there are performances. They have a site, but currently it doesn't work due to technical issues; I hope it will be renewed soon.

I understand that words "co-creating with God" confuse a little. It is really so, and the sense of the course is really co-creation with God, but when someone read this at the very beginning (just wishing to know about the authors), it can confuse. I removed these words from this page.

I assume it's the same concept as continuing the work of creation like tikkun olam?

Not exactly. Tikkun olam does not require direct connection between God and man. But in 8th day the dialog with God becomes mandatory, it must be actual and direct collaboration with our Father.

Well, I guess I'll get on that if any direct communication comes my way.

You'll have to show where it is.
It's not in Scripture.
That's not what i think, that's a fact.
There is all in Scripture, besides the term "8th Day". The term appears, for example, in John of Damascus - see epigraphs.

Perhaps you should do this in "other religions" subforum.
Never mind, i'm gone.
Have a nice day.

In Christianity the concept of the 8th day of creation is the day Christ rose from the dead, as such the number 8 has figured in Christian art and architecture to symbolize renewal--the most common expression of this is the use of octagonal shaped baptismal fonts.

The earliest mention of an 8th day comes from the Epistle of Barnabas, one of the ancient books of the antilegomena (books disputed in the early Church which were sometimes accepted as canonical and sometimes not accepted as canonical),

"Wherefore also we keep the eighth day for rejoicing, in the which also Jesus rose from the dead, and having been manifested ascended into the heavens." - Barnabas 15:9

St. Justin references it a few times in his Dialogue with Trypho, notably here:

"You know, then, sirs, that God has said in Isaiah to Jerusalem: 'I saved you in the deluge of Noah.' By this which God said was meant that the mystery of saved men appeared in the deluge. For righteous Noah, along with the other mortals at the deluge, i.e., with his own wife, his three sons and their wives, being eight in number, were a symbol of the eighth day, wherein Christ appeared when He rose from the dead, for ever the first in power. For Christ, being the first-born of every creature, became again the chief of another race regenerated by Himself through water, and faith, and wood, containing the mystery of the cross; even as Noah was saved by wood when he rode over the waters with his household." - Dialogue with Trypho, ch. 138

Justin earlier had drawn significance from circumcision occurring on the eighth day as a point of symbolic importance; and the significance of baptism/regeneration as, in Christian thought, spiritual circumcision in Christ.

My point is really only this: In Christianity there is already a great deal of theological import put on the concept of an 8th day of creation that is found exclusively in our confession of Jesus' resurrection and the renewal, restoration, and redemption of all creation through Him. From a Christian perspective every time we gather, on the first day of the week, to receive Word and Sacrament, we are celebrating the 8th day of creation. The first day of the week is, for us, spiritually the 8th day, or the Lord's Day, the day of the resurrection, the day of redemption; pointing back to Christ's own resurrection, our present salvation, and looking forward to the day when God makes all things new at the Eschaton.

Thank you very much for your comment and quotes. I think that the idea of 8th day is realized in Christianity deeper than in other worldviews. Moreover, the prophecy of Jesus in Mt 24 is close enough to the facts that we see now and that we call "8th Day of Creation": collecting here of "selected people", returning of prophecy, dialog with Him, miracles etc.

What do you think about our new information?

I don't know what this means, the only "prophecy" Jesus gives in Matthew 24 is the destruction of the Temple which occurred in 70 CE.

What do you think about our new information?

As I said before, one of the main points of my bringing up the concept of the 8th day in historic Christian theology is that, in the Christian religion, the concept is already well defined. There is, therefore, no real need or use for new information--what has already been said by the ancient fathers and the many theologians of the Church stands, effectively, on its own.

Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory

Please look.
Who is Son of Man? We know that sons of people live on earth, not on heaven. I see only 2 solutions and believe that Jesus kept in mind both. First solution: he speaks here about God (remember that Jesus is God), Who comes to humanity in the glory. It means returning prophecy in global scale ("all peoples"), because the situation when people directly contact with God is named prophecy. It is the fact that we see now.

Second solution: Jesus speaks about... airplanes. We know from our course that Messiah is really comes now, but it is not a single person, but a collective Messiah. (It will be in the lesson #15.) Soon they will really come to all nations of the earth. How? Of course, on airplanes: today it is the most common way for traveling between countries. And, really, with angels: a lot of angels work in this project.

It could be true if the only goal of Christians is... death. Cemetery. Of course, if you suppose that 2nd Coming will never occur, the ancient information is enough. But what are you going to do when Jesus will actually come and invite you to the next epoch? Just to die? I think in other way, and I believe that people need further information to prepare themselves to this event. It is exactly the subject of our course. And you can see that only a little part of this information, that God gives now, is really known in world religions.

Actually, there's not even a 7th day of creation...
...anyway....
There is 7td day, but it is not called day of creation (it is called Shabbat). It is something like a pause in creation: man already created, but he is not ready yet for co-creation with God, he need to learn. 8th day is again a day of creation: God will change the world together with us.

And, really, with angels: a lot of angels work in this project.

Many who exegete this passage, myself included, understand that Jesus' language is intentionally echoing the book of Daniel where Daniel in his "night time visions" sees one like a son of man taken up in a cloud to the Ancient of Days, and the Ancient of Days grants him all authority and dominion; this isn't a reference to what Christians call the Parousia, or Christ's appearing/return at the consummation of history, but to His ascension and being seated at the right hand of God.

Many others do see in this a reference to the Parousia. If it refers to the Parousia, then it's the Parousia--an event that is rather clearly defined in Christian theology and tradition as the actual return of Jesus at the consummation of history, "to judge the quick and the dead" as the Apostles' Creed puts it. In the Christian view the Parousia won't be confusing, nobody will ask, "Is it Him?" everyone will know. It's not unlike the Jewish understanding of Messiah's coming--it will be so obvious that nobody will not believe it happened. Which is why, at least as far as orthodox Christianity deals with it, the minute details are fundamentally unimportant, all that is asserted is that it will be Jesus (the same and actual Jesus who was conceived in Mary's womb, in the flesh), that it will be obvious (nobody will doubt it, nobody will question it, it will be accepted by all) and at His coming the dead will be raised, bodily, the graves will be opened, and there will be the Judgment of all, the living and the dead, the great and the small, etc. If that doesn't happen, then it hasn't happened.

It could be true if the only goal of Christians is... death. Cemetery. Of course, if you suppose that 2nd Coming will never occur, the ancient information is enough.
