You can stop mischaracterising this as "a sexual topic" just any time now. It has been explained to you that it isn't.Well I was referring to a certain sexual topic thats common right now in america.

People will quote scientists as if they are somehow equal to God.
But they make claims about thing that they really have no idea about.
In that case then I don't care what the "DSM V" is. I only serve one master. God. And He knows what is mental illness or not. Not some human scientist who has not even 0.00001% of the intelligence of God. Thats the sad thing about any subject really. People will quote scientists as if they are somehow equal to God. Yes, there are some things that seem to be logically right. They say gravity exists and we can see that. But they make claims about thing that they really have no idea about. From the age of the universe to what makes someone "them".
One reason that a person would deny a mental illness is because it could get them fired. (It happened to me.)Yes, that is another topic, along with the reasons why a person would deny a mental illness, and what in fact constitutes a mental illness.

No, it shouldn't happen, but it did -- and right here in the USA. What I've learned over my many years of employment, though, is that if management wants you gone, you're gone. So they were smart enough to never say I was being fired because of my condition. Employers can invent any reason to terminate you, and they did. That shouldn't happen. Was this in the US? As long as you are able to perform the essential functions of your job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, termination because of mental illness would be an ADA violation. And the employer cannot require that you notify him of your specific medical diagnosis or nature of your illness. Did you look into this?

Yeah. I know it happens. But if an employer uses a pretext to terminate an employee because of a medical condition, he could be paying very major damages. You'd have to find an attorney skilled in employment law, who'd be willing to take the case on contingency. It's a hassle, and it would take time, but you could be well compensated. And the company could be assessed an EEOC fine for their bad behavior.
This is an important point, but I find that people who want to declare things to be mental illnesses often lack a real understanding of the condition.
Same for those who declare that all mental illnesses are literally caused by demons.
Or a failure to obey God. A friend of mine is a teacher of "Biblical counseling", who teaches that mental illness is a myth and that all emotional issues (including things like ADHD) go back to some unconfessed sin.
I disagree with this school of thought. Mental illness can be the result of emotional issues left to fester too long, other times it can be hereditary, even other times it can be a biochemical imbalance in the brain. Anyway, the solution is far more nuanced than thumping someone with a Bible.
