Well you do have a point as the creation story of Genesis was made up by the Hebrew redactors of Babylon.

Just as in your own rejection of the Trinity, of the virgin birth, of the miracles in the Bible, of the resurrection of Christ and ascension to heaven -- of pretty much anything that an atheist might object to - in the Bible.

That is exactly why I no longer respond to his posts. He passes himself off as some highly educated Biblical scholar and yet can't point to anything in the Bible he believes. Rather than defend his points with facts, he accuses you of being uneducated and simple minded. I have personally blocked several such "Biblical scholars." Either it's all the same person with different accounts, or somewhere there is a web site encouraging people to use that format to attack Christian websites from within. This IS a format.

Amen. God hid His Truth in the future discoveries of the "last days" when scientific and historic knowledge is increased and men begin to recognize what God actually told us in Genesis. The longer you live on Earth, the more you will truly understand Genesis chapter One.

Alas, atheists have no monopoly on condescension and insults. Creationists make a habit of it; anyone, Christian or not, who "attacks the Bible" (i.e. disagrees with a literal interpretation of Genesis) is frequently accused in the most invidious terms of attacking Christianity itself. And very often any Christian who "attacks the Bible (i.e. disagrees with a literal interpretation of Genesis is accused of being an atheist in disguise, again in a most unpleasant fashion.

That is interesting isn't it. One would expect these colonies of cyanobacteria to have radically changed, but remarkably, they are essentially the same today. Stromatolites, which are interpreted as the remains of colonies of blue-green algae, or more accurately cyanobacteria, are classic examples of living fossils.

Using objective reasoning, why have these things remained the same over billions of years?

I'm a theist and a Christian. The evidence supports an ancient earth and the evolution of life.

Mutations happen. Sometimes the mutations are adaptive. Given enough time (the earth is ancient) enough mutations accumulat to form a new species. IOW the ONLY difference between "micro" and "macro" evolution is time.

But you must entertain considerable doubt about Genesis yourself. You need it to be 100% accurate literal history or you can't believe it.
