This is one of those questions which puzzles us Mormons because if you were Mormon and know Mormonism so well you should know the answer.

10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent
Moses prophesied to the whole house of Israel;
Deut 4
27 And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you.
28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
So the Lord would scatter them but not haphazardly he would lead them among the nations
"But he also promises; When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the Lord thy God is a merciful Godhe will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them."
The covenant was first he would be a God unto them, second the land of Abraham would be theirs forever. There is another promise which was made to Joseph of Egypt; Jacob told him
"Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:......The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren" Gen 49...

No, we don't claim this. But we have all the answers to questions that are important for salvation in Celestial Kingdom.Yes but Mormonism claims to know all the answers to everything, so where are the Nephites?
No, we don't claim this. But we have all the answers to questions that are important for salvation in Celestial Kingdom.
There are keys to many important doors in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To the doors that lead to salvation in Celestial Kingdom.
We have fullness of the Gospel.
But we do not have answers to everything. When we become like God may be then we will have answers to everything.![]()
You mean see the Mormon Creed?Correction: LDS openly embrace the fact that we don't know everything. See Article of Faith 9.
You have the Devil's gospel. Your gospel matches the Devil's wish and goal, i.e. to "be like the Most High". The Christian Gospel is far, far different.No, we don't claim this. But we have all the answers to questions that are important for salvation in Celestial Kingdom.

That's a very long reply for one that doesn't answer the question that was asked. And you say YOU are frustrated with HER?This is one of those questions which puzzles us Mormons because if you were Mormon and know Mormonism so well you should know the answer.

The covenant was first he would be a God unto them, second the land of Abraham would be theirs forever. There is another promise which was made to Joseph of Egypt; Jacob told him
"Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:......The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren" Gen 49.
Joseph's family would move beyond the bounds of the lands promised to the everlasting hills, that's here in the Americas.
Ezekiel prophesied of the same thing;
Eze11
16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.
17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
In Eze 37 there are three different prophecies concerning the gathering of Israel, the second one is about the Book of Mormon with the stick of Ephraim being brought forth.
Then the last one is again about the gathering of Israel
21-28 It continues with the theme of the gathering of Israel.
"… and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; … And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant .."
Remember Jacob’s promised land was greater than his father’s blessing and was to be found in the utmost bounds of the everlasting hills. He uses David as an idiom for Jesus who was his descendant, he will be their King. " and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people."
In Jer 31 there is a prophecy directed at Ephraim;
6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God....
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north .... a great company shall return thither..... for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn....
Ephraim will assume the role as head of the house of Israel and will be the first to be gather in.
"Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord."
We claim that The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is this gathering of Israel, it started with the gathering of Ephraim. The remnants of tribe of Ephraim can be found in all nations. We have the stick or tablets of Ephraim and have joined it to the Bible the stick of Judah. Ephraim's Zions will one day be built on this the American Continent.
Lots of words, but no answer to the question. 2 Nephi 2:28 is not talking about LDS.
2 Nephi 28
1 And now, behold, my brethren, I have spoken unto you, according as the Spirit hath constrained me; wherefore, I know that they must surely come to pass.
2 And the things which shall be written out of the book shall be of great worth unto the children of men, and especially unto our seed, which is a remnant of the house of Israel.
LDS do NOT descend from the Nephites.
See you never read the Book of Mormon, the actual "Nephites" or white people were all killed off, the Lamanites cousins to the Nephites and who intermarried with the peoples around them are remnant. Of course these groups intermarried quite a bit.
I am a descendant, Great Grandma crossed the boarder from Mexico around 1905. She married a man with Scottish ancestry who we also believe to part of the remnant, those that would come from the north.
There are 3,905,125 members in South America and another 1,394,708 members in Mexico, more members speak Spanish than English.
And don't go off on the DNA thing cause I'll bury you with the truth and you don't want to read it anyway.
You're misreading WonderingAwe's post. She's talking about the Nephites in general, not the specific Three Nephites.No, you're the person who needs to read the BoM. I've read it from cover to cover. The three Nephites were not "killed off."
This is flaming and against forum rules. Please respect forum rules.British Israelism is as corny as Mormonism.
Seems to me this is exactly what Phoebe is purposing, she keeps posting quotes from Mormon leaders which say 'you must be obedient to God's commandments in order to be saved' with the idea that there is something unchristian about that idea.
Read the Book of Mormon and find out.
Actually, our faith is required for Christ to save us: He cannot/willnot save us without it.We can't help Jesus save us ---- He is omnipotent.
Actually, the Bible is quite clear that our salvation is conditional on our faith/acceptance of Him.What is unchristian is to claim that Jesus' sacrifice is conditional instead of merciful.
The Book of Mormon hasn't told you where the Nephites are. You can't find them or any trace of them.
The Bible doesn't tell me where John the Revelator is nowadays. Does that mean the Bible is false?
