Yup. I'm a dull beer drinker but come to my house for a bourbon tasting and I'll change your life.

As it turns out we have more in common than we knew:)
Bourbon :amen:

Booze baby. And if you win it at a Catholic raffle, even better! :D
True story, back in the day when I was just dating the hubs, we bartended his at the time bosses wedding as a favor (yes, I went to bartending school in a former life) and the priest comes to the bar asking me for a beer and I was like, are priests allowed to drink? He laughed and said, yes were allowed to drink.

I'm not ashamed to tell you that I have had a couple too many with a priest or two. Priests can't hold their booze.

Whenever we argue and I start my "labeling process" (birds fly, fishes are swimming and I label people) I`ll try to picture you with a glass of bourbon.

Don't feel bad. Before becoming Catholic I saw some priests out drinking and having a grand time. I was absolutely scandalized by it! Lol

That must be a convert thing. As part of a longtime catholic family, you are introduced to the priest having a beer or drink early on. We still set up a bar at the funeral home whenever a family member dies. I've seen many a priest come in and lead the rosary, then amble on back and have a beer.

I know, right? It was my ex Catholic dad's bringing us to Pentecostal churches that had me asking the priest, what are you doing drinking and having fun?

He's European. Not a Southerner. I'm a Southerner but a real one. Not one of those Yankee southerns.

A european staying up late to enjoy a bayer with my buds across the pond ;)

Yeah I think it is a convert thing. Plus with the anticatholic grapevine that goes around talking about those boozing catholics!

It felt kind of bizzare to celebrate my confirmation in the parish hall drinking redwine with my priest...
It wouldve been unheared of in my former Lutheran church no doubt...
