  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not the one that went looking for "obstacles" to a pure race of Homo sapiens in the first place.

You're also not the one who felt that removing those "obstacles" was the Lord's work.

It's the last thousand you need to concern yourself with; not the first six.

Why be concerned? The record of failure is pretty consistent.

Well if I did, I'd certainly use the theory of evolution to justify it.

And the theory of evolution does not say that either, indeed evolution wise there is no such thing as a pure race, or if there is they are due for extinction, one disease could could wipe out the whole population. Genetic diversity in a population is a good thing evolutionarily speaking - the opposite of what Hitler's Eugenics policies envisaged.

Only on even-numbered days... on odd-numbered days, you'd remind the people that "God is With Us."

I'll bet that's what Japan thought when they saw this airplane flying overhead.

I'm somewhat familiar with what they call inbreeding depression -- or whatever.

I wonder if inbreeding depression was in vogue at the time though.

And what exactly was the US' record of failure up to that point? Guadalcanal? Saipan? Iwo Jima? Okinawa?

I see you care about history as much as you care about honesty.

Sure he would.

You don't think he would go against the grain, do you?

When in Rome ...

“Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents. And but for the interference with his arrangement there would be no cause for such marriages. The fact that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix.” — Judge Leon M. Bazile, January 6, 1959

Indeed -- God is always a much more useful justification for all manner of atrocity...

What?

Were the Japanese running around with a big "L" on their foreheads?

Do you think they would spread these failures around like a virus?

I wonder if they were LOLing as a single bomb was being dropped?

If no one ever believed the theory of evolution, would WW2 have gone differently?

Probably not. People have been killing one another long before Darwin was even born.

In fact, the first recorded instance, according to your mythology, was someone who was jealous that God liked his brother more...

In fact, didn't the Hebrew god kill other ethnicities for the same reasons Hitler did?

Indeed -- one could argue that Hitler's greatest fault was attempting to play God...

One doesn't need an answer or theory of why God would choose to create a universe in such a way that evolution would take place in it in order to accept the overwealming scientific evidence that evolution does in fact takes place. That it might be a tough question for theologians to answer doesn't imply anything negative for the veracity of the theory of evolution.
