  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've never seen it, you've never seen it, no one's ever seen it. God doesn't heal amputees.

Just as I thought the closed mind of atheists subscribes to you in your small corner and I in mine. I know someone who saw an amputee gain a new hand but of course with your cynical rejection of reality it would not interest you.

I can't help note that so many of the writers here want to know where I saw what I saw.

Yeah. Because this is the internet, and one of the nice things about the internet is that it is a near-endless source of knowledge. If you are looking for statistics and data, almost regardless of the field, you can find it on the internet. So when someone like you makes claims with absolutely no backing, it's entirely normal for us to ask for your sources, so that we can know you aren't just making them up. Case in point: you claimed in another thread that a book launch of a friend of yours was attacked by LGBT activists, but you never provided any details - not a link to a news article about the event, not the name of the book, author, or church, nothing. Because of your refusal to answer these basic questions, I think it's entirely fair to assume you were making the whole thing up, because if you weren't, where's your source?

And this is no different. You make quite a few claims based on no evidence we can see. It's not unreasonable to ask for citations. It's unreasonable to expect to be taken seriously with none.

And apparently there are 14 wars taking place currently. All evidence of man's inhumanity to man.

And yet...

2014-07-23-WaningofWar.png

War has been on the decline since the 1940s. Less wars are taking place, less people are dying, and large-scale international conflict is virtually a thing of the past.

What puzzles me is how they intend to do this when all they do is carp, are totally negative, morose, depressing, gloomy, moody, pessimistic and sullen. I have yet to see one post from them that is positive.

My world is full of positive, happy people who are always looking for the best in people and prefer to compliment you rather than make negative remarks all the time. If you are down, they will help see you through to the other side.

Wait, hang on, aren't you the one claiming that the world is worse than it has ever been, that we're facing untold new illnesses and wars and homelessness and slavery? And we're the negative, morose, and depressing ones?

Glad you think so as I have got a lot more where that came from. Not so long ago I was in a meeting and a young man in his early 20s told us his life story. His Dad was a deadbeat and as a result the young man ended up being a petty criminal. And to boot every weekend his only aim was to get as drunk as a newt.

One weekend he was so drunk that on his way home he fell down in the gutter and there he lay unable to get up. He passed out and during his drunken stupor Jesus appeared to him and spoke to him. In that moment of time he committed his life to Christ and was eternally saved.

He came to stone sober and walked home. From that day he said he has not touched alcohol and his only passion now was telling others about the love of God and his story. As a result many have been born again and become part of the kingdom of God.

Now that is what I call a cool story.

Yeah, that is a cool story. You know what would make that story better?

If it actually happened.

Including those good folk who want to put homosexuals and abortion providers to death?

Steve said this in post 355. Apparently that is OK because he is an atheist.

There are Christians who wish to have homosexuals put to death. Do you doubt this? There are Christians who have killed abortion providers. Do you deny this?

I do have to wonder where people get the idea the world is a better place now that atheism is king.

I read a few weeks ago that we have more displaced persons than we have ever had in the history of mankind. I guess that is better than having no displaced persons.

I read that there are approximately 22 million women and children who are in sexual slavery. I guess that is better than having none.

I read that despite the world having enough food to feed everyone, there are millions dying of starvation. I guess that is better than having no one starving.

I read that suicide is on the rise and it is as high as it has ever been. I guess that is better than having no suicides.

I believe there are more homeless now than there has ever been. I guess that is better than having no one homeless.

I believe the number of people that are dying of AIDS is at an all time high. But I guess that is better than having no one dying of AIDS.

Because of war, famine and AIDS, there are more orphans in Africa than at anytime before. But I guess that is better than having no orphans.

No doubt about it. The world is definitely a better place now.

You are either lying, or repeating the lies of others. Which is it?

I can't help note that so many of the writers here want to know where I saw what I saw. I find that a bit strange as I would have expected that if you are going to write on a public forum you will know what you're talking about. It is no use seeing things from a single perspective and then expecting everyone else seeing it the same way as you do.

Personally I don't care where anyone saw anything or read anything.

Judging by the number of things you state that are false, that is plainly obvious!

I doubt if there is any time that we would like to go back to as man has made a complete foul up of running this planet. At some time or another there is always someone suffering at the hands of another.

And yet, you also claim that now is the worst time to live!

You really don't know what you are talking about, do you?

Provide the evidence.

"I know someone who says...." Is NOT evidence!

It was a lie, wasn't it?

Of course it was a lie. Didn't you know that christians ALWAYS lie when they are writing something on a Christian forum. That is the only reason they come onto forums to lie through their teeth. After all that is what the bible teaches. It says "You shall know the art of lying and the art of lying will set you free."

In fact the rules of christian forums is that you must lie or you will be banned because telling the truth is anathema on christian forums. If we told the truth no one would believe us. When we lie the atheists always believe us because it is second nature for them to lie as they cannot handle the truth so we have to lie to keep them happy.

We like to lie because that means we can say anything and we don't have to justify anything we say. You should try it as it will give you so much respect and acceptance. After all you can't tell the truth that God does exist or you would be laughed out of atheist heaven.

Overlong plodding sarcasm aside, what was the name of the book whose launch was assaulted by LGBT activists?

Well actually, I wanted to know what it was like to think like an atheist as they don't know what they are talking about. I mean, to keep saying that God does not exist when we all know that he does doesn't say much for the intelligence of atheists.

I mean what idiot really believes that God doesn't exist when every day evidence of his existence looks us in the face. To think like an atheist I would have to deny the reality of God's existence as it is totally stupid to say that he doesn't exist and what's more, not only to say it but to believe it.

I am starting to feel stupid already. When I go out tomorrow and look at the flowers in my garden and see the beautiful intricacies of the petals and their magnificent colours to think like an atheist I will have to say to myself "God created these? Nah, it all happened by chance out of the blue. Who would be stupid enough to believe that the God who does not exist created these? You need a vivid imagination to believe that."

"I will stick with the obvious. You know, one day there is nothing and the next day poof the flower appears. That is much more sensible and logical. And the fact that every zebra on earth has a different stripe pattern. How on earth could God achieve such an intricate design feature. After all he is a no one and a nobody and doesn't even exist. Well, that is my story and I am sticking to it even though it makes me a complete idiot.

It make much more sense to believe that the stripes were a product of random events that happened suddenly and without anyone's interference. They just happened the way they did. What a complete idiot I am to believe that. I am beginning to feel like an atheist who does his best to deny reality because he can't cope with it. Unless he is in charge of the funny farm he feels really upset and left out of things. I wonder if that is why the scripture says that the fool says in his heart there is no God?

What is an LGBT activist? and you specialise in overlong plodding sarcasm so you should have enjoyed it. I mean, sarcasm is one of your specialities. I am thinking of writing a book by collecting all the sarcasm that atheists write on christian forums. I think I might call it "Humourless Atheists and their Sarcastic Sarcasms."

There are atheists who want as many babies in the womb murdered as possible. Do you deny this? And for your information about 50 million of them have been murdered since Roe v Wade. Have 50 million abortion providers been killed by Christians? Have 50 million homosexuals been killed by Christians?

For your information I know the answer to my questions so don't give me some [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] and bull story and try and justify a pathetic attempt at a strawman.
