  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm so lucky: there ain't no bears in New Zealand.

There must be something over there that can get you McKeras. Snakes? Koala bears? Great white sharks? What would sword famine and plague be like without the wild beasts? Anyway, all of this Faraday cage stuff won't work. Me and my brother talked about stashing an old camping trailer out into the deep bush in Algonquin. The problem with that is at the 5th trumpet Lucifer and a couple billion of his demonic angels will be let out of the abyss. These guys are super angelic beings with ex-ray night vision that never need sleep. No amount of camouflage or Raman noodles will be able to protect you from these guys. And in those days people will seek a CME and will not find one. They will long for a CME, but a CME will flee from them. Only those that have the Seal of the Living God will be safe.

"So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number. And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphirec and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like lions’ heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths. By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents with heads, and by means of them they wound.

Do whatever you like, but NEVER confuse New Zealand with Australia! Snakes, Koalas, Brucie? Not here.

The massive CME that the Lord will send will badly affect New Zealand. Fires, earthquakes and storms, but the worst will be tsunamis, as all our bigger cities bar one, are on the coast.
It isn't correct to think Revelation 9:15-19 is the next event. Those 200 mil. 'horse's' come during the GT.

We know from reading all the prophesies, that the Lord's Day of fire from the sun will mostly affect the Middle East. Most of the rest of the world will survive, [just a matter of staying under cover for the 12 hours or so of daylight] and will establish a OWG. But we who love the Lord will gather and settle in a regenerated Holy Land. Great will be the Day! Ezekiel 20:34-38

With the New Cold War era heating up people, (especially Christians) are becoming increasingly nervous about recent events developing in the Middle East over the last six months. Iran has a sweet Nuclear Deal that doesn't allow U.S. inspection of suspected sites, and many believe Iran will have a nuke in less than two years.

In June 2015 U.S./Russian relations take a nose dive as the Russian backed Ukrainian civil war continues and U.S. surveillance planes flying over international waters in the Black Sea are challenged by Russian fighter planes. Days later, Russian President Vladimir Putin is disinvited from attending the G7 summit in Geneva, Switzerland.

In July 2015 as large numbers of Russian ground forces move toward the border of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin threatens to use nuclear weapons against NATO if the West tries to intervene in the Russian backed Ukrainian civil war. NATO immediately responds by forward deploying a "Fast Reaction Force" of thirty thousand ground troops, artillery and main battle tanks closer to the Ukrainian border. This force is later joined by twenty F-22 advanced (nuclear capable) stealth fighter bombers, and the U.S. threatens to redeploy intermediate range nuclear missiles to Western Europe removed at the end of the last Cold War, (CNN News July, 2015).

Three months later, thousands of Russian Spetznaz (special forces) troops are on the ground in Syria, joined by Iranian Republican Guard and Hezbollah terrorists ostensibly there as our (allies?!) in the War on Terror fighting ISIS. Hundreds of advanced Russian fighter planes and (night capable) Hind Attack Helicopters, (dubbed the flying tank) join the ground troops. Off shore the Russian forces are supported by a Typhoon Class nuclear ballistic submarine, the heavy guided missile cruiser "Moskava" (also nuclear capable), as well as China's new aircraft carrier the "Liaoning Jian". Also in September, China makes a deal to supply Iran with four hundred of their advanced J-10 (F-16 equivalent) fighter aircraft, (CNN News, Sept. 2015).

On October 1, 2015 Washington and NATO accuse Russia of concentrating on attacking anti-Assad forces in Syria while ignoring ISIS. Then on October 11, Washington accuses Russia of attacking and killing U.S. advisers on the ground in Syria supporting the ant-Assad forces, (CNN NEWS, Oct.11). Does anyone seriously still believe Russia is our ally in the War on Terror ?!

In January 2016 Russia sends a fighter aircraft into Turkish airspace and the plane is shot down by Turkey, Russia expands their operations to include Iraqi territory and takes possession of a major air base 25 miles west of Baghdad. Syria now bristles with Russian surface to air missile batteries, and ECM (Electronic Counter Measure) installations have popped up on mountain tops in Southern Syria to block U.S, NATO and Israeli surveillance in the country, (Debkafiles). What is going to happen when Hezbollah terrorists in Syria start launching rockets into Israel once again ?! The supreme leader of Iran (The Iatollah) publicly calls for renewed attacks against Israel.

Russia is now in a poised to stop Israel and the U.S. from building a natural gas pipeline from its' "Leviathan" gas field in the Mediterranean to Turkey, thus breaking Russia's stranglehold of natural gas supplies to Western Europe.

By my estimation, SAC (Strategic Air Command) has gone from DEFCON 4 (Normal) to DEFCON 2 at least four times in the last six months. At DEFCON 2 America's nuclear bomber forces are flown to within 1,500 miles of Russian airspace (Fail Safe)and wait there for the attack codes to be issued by the President of the United States. Time till bomb drop is less than three hours. DEFCON 1 is Nuclear War. The missile silos are opened and they launch, along with naval forces worldwide. The Apocalypse.

In July-September 2015 another disturbing event took place called operation Jade Helm 15. Thousands of elite military troops dispersed throughout the South Western United States in nine states to remote locations far away from major cities and existing military bases, in what the U.S. government alleged were combat training exercises for future overseas deployment. (Question). Why would they be training off base in remote locations on civilian owned land, when combat training has always been traditionally carried out in the past on land reserved for military use ? (Answer). They wouldn't.

Jade Helm 15 was a "dress rehearsal" or drill for the dispersal of U.S. ground forces nationally in the event of Nuclear War. The special forces units have prepared the ground and systems necessary for the two million ground forces that will be dispersed in the event of war. All you have to do is take a look at where they dispersed to and compare that to a Nuclear Fallout map from the 1970's. The Book "Nuclear Apocalypse" is a good place to start, but it's a dreary read and it gets rather technical at times.

Homeland Security wasn't created to combat Terrorism in the USA either. Their offices are located in every major U.S. city, and their job is to act as the command agency when all civilian law enforcement and emergency services are federalized in time of war. There is no plan to evacuate U.S. cities. The civilian population will be forced to shelter in place. Most police and fire departments have already been issued radiological dose (rad/per hour) pens and meters to read the pens. If the interstates and highways are suddenly shut down, and you see cops wearing these radiation dose pens.. Well it's DEFCON 1.

You also may see naval ships leaving harbors in a mass exodus if you live in a port city. Low flying military aircraft will also be scrambling to rural civilian airports where runways have been extended in the last couple of decades to receive them. Of course all your friends in the reserved armed forces will be throwing duffel bags in their cars and driving away like a "bat outta hell". Other than that, there won't be any announcement on television or radio warning the American public of what's coming.

This thread is open for people and Christians to discuss plans for how to survive the Coming Nuclear Apocalypse. In it, I will also reveal the Scriptural proof that makes a case for at least a "limited" nuclear war during the Second Half of Tribulations (The Great Tribulation Period).

My purpose is not to spread hysteria or sanction militant anti-government ideology in this thread. If you want to talk about how to get yourself killed during the Apocalypse, please start your own thread and talk about it somewhere else. I hope what you read here will help you and other Christians to prepare for and survive what is shortly about to come upon the whole world.

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36, KJV).
There is a war coming soon. The exact description of the war can be found in scripture. Haggai 2:20-23 describes the war. This is an unfulfilled event. As of 520 BC up until 50 AD God had not shaken both the heavens and the earth. We know this from Hebrews 12:25-27. This message in Haggai has gone forth on the 24th day of the 9th month our year 2015...the day and month according to the Hebrew calendar. This was the 1st day of Chanukah, which is the feast of dedication. Which was 12/06/2015 according to our calendar. We can only speculate as to the exact time frame of the war. It seems most likely to occur this year. of course, I can't say for sure.

It is described as a war that will shake both the heavens and the earth. That will overthrow royal thrones and where brother will go down by the sword of his brother. It seems possible that it could be a war of Muslim nations against one another. I don't know though. Regardless, it will likely be a nuclear exchange in order to shake both the heavens and the earth.

The best advice, I believe is to have our spiritual houses in order. To stay as close to God as possible. Certainly, water and food would be a good idea. I would stay away from Muslim countries, as it does seem possibly an Islamic war. Not sure though. But, be prepared because it is coming.

There is NOT going to be a war until WWIII comes close to ending all of mankind - but that won't happen until the end of Tribulation, which hasn't begun yet.
When the Tribulation does arrive, the antichrist will bring about worldwide peace - until God ends those peace treaties.

And God Bless New Zealand for taking an "anti-nuclear" stand politically, when the entire rest of the world is feverishly trying to get a nuclear weapon. I understand U.S. nuclear warships are prohibited from even entering New Zealand waters, is that true ?

Got to disagree with you again John. There is no description of an "interval" of "peace" found anywhere in the Olivet Discourse which describes the events of the Tribulation Period. If you see anything like that mentioned in Matthew 24, post it here. The Apostle Paul does refers to a "false" time when people will say "Peace and safety", and this time will immediately be followed by sudden destruction, (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

The Book of Ezekiel does describe a time when Israel will live with unwalled villages and at rest and securely in "peace and safety" and "having neither bars nor gates", (Ezekiel 38:11), just before the invasion of the Antichrist called the Abomination of Desolation. However, it's quite a leap and pure conjecture to suggest this description suggests there will be an Arab-Israeli Peace Agreement at the beginning of the Tribulation Period. Although I can see where a superficial reading of Ezekiel 38:11 might lead one to that erroneous conclusion.

Compared to the past, Israel is at rest and does live far more securely since it built the "Security Barrier" separating Israel from the West Bank. Gone are the days of Intifada uprisings in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv with hundreds laying bloody in the street. Of course any Arab-Israeli Peace Treaty that proposed the removal of the "Security Barrier", (The New Berlin Wall, as some Europeans refer to it), would be totally ludicrous from an Israeli standpoint.

So what is Ezekiel 38:11 describing ?! If it isn't referring to the "Security Barrier" ?! In Bible symbolism a "wall" is used figuratively to describe the protection God places around the righteous , (Isaiah 26:1). While the description of "bars and gates" is an obvious reference to the ten gates built into the ancient walls of Jerusalem, each of which represents a part of God's redemptive plan for Israel, as described in the third chapter of Nehemiah.

So now the prophecy of Ezekiel 11:38 takes on a completely different meaning altogether. Israel is living "unrighteously", in its treatment of the Palestinian people. And has neither "bars nor gates", as it is completely "unredeemable", having no intention of ever allowing a viable Palestinian State to be created. Ezekiel 11:38 is not a description of Israel living securely under the protection of an Arab-Israeli Peace Agreement,... IT IS A PRETEXT FOR WAR AGAINST ISRAEL !.

See John. There is no Peace Agreement, or interim of peace that precedes the Tribulation Period. I'm afraid you've swallowed more Futurist mythology doctrine. Please be mindful, that regurgitating Futurist doctrine, is not the same as thinking.

Correct, nuke powered and armed warships are prohibited from entering NZ waters.

JohnS, there won't be any wars, conventional or nuclear in the future.
Bible prophecy tells us of four attacks to come:
1/ Psalms 83....an Islamic confederation attacks the State of Israel.
2/ Gog/Magog...a Northern alliance attacks new Israel. [Beulah, Isaiah 62:1-5]
3/ Armageddon...the armies of the Anti-Christ attack Jesus.
4/ End of the Millennium... Satan is released and again attacks Jesus.

In every case, the attackers are wiped out by the Lord.

One thing everybody can do immediately is run down to Best Buy and get yourself a radio that can receive short wave english language foreign news broadcasts. Television, print media and radio news in the United States stopped any timely coverage of international news stories years ago. As for the movement of U.S. ground and naval forces overseas, forget that completely, it ain't happening. Please spare me the lecture about national security, because there's no reason to keep military information from Americans that's being broadcast by the BBC and Al Jazeera Radio every night, except to keep the American public like uninformed "mushrooms sitting in the dark".

The BBC has been talking for months about the Apocalyptic wave of Middle East refugees that will begin swarming into Europe through Turkey in the next three months when winter ends. They're talking about a wave of refugees four times the size of the one in September 2015. European politicians are calling it the "greatest displacement of people since the "Second World War", and say the flood of refugees threatens to destabilize Europe to the point of "economic catastrophe and collapse". (end quote).

The first news I saw in the U.S. media about the coming "Wave of Refugees" this Spring was published in USA Today Newspaper yesterday, 1/24/. The article only described numbers and had nothing to say about its' possible impact on Europe's economy or political stability. Based on what I've heard elsewhere, I'd have to characterize the rather brief and deliberately uninformative story in USA Today as being very dismissive, vanilla journalism, on what could be one of the biggest international stories of the coming year.

So if you want to be sitting at the mall drinking a "mocha latte" and texting your Face Book account to chat about Donald Trump's latest antics when the bomb hits and you're turned into ashes.. Well that's your choice, isn't it ?! Sorry you care so much about the "things of the world", you'd rather die than do without them John S. That doesn't sound anything like Christian theology to me though, (1 John 2:15).

I'll have already heard days ago through the BBC that U.S. naval forces have entered the Black Sea and NATO is getting ready to move against Russia and the Ukraine. And believe me, I'll be "long gone".

By the way, If you're not so concerned about being caught on the government's radar, the Israelis are world renown for their intelligence gathering capabilities and are happy to share their information on what other countries are doing. Russia, China, The United States, North Korea, NATO, (the list goes on). I check the Debka.Com website every couple of days. You'll read about things on that site you never knew existed.

If you don't believe the U.S. media is controlled. Ask yourself the question why the U.S. imbedded news media journalists in the first and second Iraq War didn't report the patriot missile systems were performing so poorly. The story didn't come out until a Congressional Investigation determined "long after the war", that the patriot anti-missile system was only intercepting scud missiles less than 50% of the time. Don't you think those journalists got wind of that story while they were there being threatened by Scud missiles ?! Of course they did. And they sat on the story just like good soldiers are supposed to do. Can anyone say, "COVER-UP" ?!...

If you're relying on the U.S. media for real news, you might as well be living in the Soviet Union in 1969 and be reading a copy of Pravda.

Whoa there brother!! Worrying about death is not what Christians do! We don't worry about things we can't control because in ALL things God, Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer of Heaven and Earth, is sovereign! The "flesh" that will be preserved will be preserved because He determines it.

As to the PATRIOT missile thing, that bit of misinformation won't die; every PATRIOT engagement requires the firing of no less than 2 missiles at each incoming tactical ballistic missile. The best possible outcome is 50% if all radars, systems, missiles and crews were absolutely perfect.

The "press" are "good soldiers"...did you not see Geraldo Rivera drawing ill-advised pictures in the sand? Does that type of "journalism" make you happy?

RAMBO CHRISTIANITY

"he that killeth with the sword, must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and faith of the saints"
(Revelation 13:10).

Yes. I was once a Christian Militia member back in the 70's and 80's. My home looked like an armory. Field rations and wooden crates filled with thousands of rounds of military ball ammunition (7.62, .308 and .30 caliber), both armor piercing and tracer rounds stacked everywhere. I owned six long guns. My favorites were my camouflage painted HK-91 w/scope, a .30 caliber M1 carbine and my beloved CAR-15 (AR-15 w/collapsible stock) and aluminum lined barrel allowing for extremely high rates of fire, along with six 40 round banana clips, as well as a .303 British Enfield and an M1 Garand rifle. I also had quite an impressive selection of handguns . A Walther P38 and P-08, .357 Magnum Smith and Wesson, a Spanish made .45 and a .22 caliber target pistol (for the quiet work).

I was a child then, and I understood things as a child. I left the Christian Survival Militia Movement back in 1991 and got rid of all that junk. Today, I don't even own a firearm and have no desire to own one. You see I read my Bible and listened to what Revelation 13:10 says about surviving the Apocalypse. If you use a gun to kill someone, you might as well send up a big yellow hot air balloon a thousand feet high overhead with the words painted on it, "HERE I AM, COME GET ME".

If you join up with a Christian Militia, you'll won't even hear the predator drone that drops a guided missile on your head. Or the FBI and the ATF are going to show up, (maybe even the army), and haul everybody away to prison. Actually, I think that's a "best case" scenario. Worse case, you'll be attacked by an army of armed looters looking for provisions and supplies, and they kill everyone.

That having been said, should you carry a firearm at all ?! Well, you won't need a rifle to take a deer. As a matter of fact, shooting a high powered rifle will virtually guarantee a visit by the curious, or the authorities. I prefer to use snares for small game and a bow for venison. If a recurve bow is too much of a challenge, try a crossbow. It shoots like a BB gun, it's just windage and elevation. The .22 target pistol could be easily silenced by just sticking a 16 oz. plastic Cola bottle on the muzzle and securing it with duct tape. You'll have about 2-3 shots that make a very slight "thump" sound before your makeshift silencer gets noisy. That should be sufficient to bag small game. By the way, porcupine is the fillet mignon of wild meat and way better than venison. Eating only lean rabbit will result in a condition called "Rabbit Starvation".

Snares and traps are tricky to set up though, and definitely send out the message, "Hello. Somebody Lives Around Here". So I can understand the desirability of taking small game with a (quiet) .22 pistol. The ammo is lightweight and readily available anywhere, compared to military grade ammo, which has virtually been removed from the American market in recent years anyways.

By the way. You don't need a Rambo knife or even an axe, or hatchet. Loud sounds like "chopping" can carry a mile in the mountains. It can even be heard a half mile away on wooded flat land. The last thing you want to do in a survival/evasion situation, is make lots of loud noise thus advertising your location. The Rambo knife is useless as a camp tool anyways. You'll just end up cutting your own hand off or sticking yourself in the leg with it. Coleman makes a nice little camp/skinning knife for about $12 dollars. You can wear it on a belt, and go into town and nobody is going to take you for a sociopath looking for a fight.

That's the whole point of "evasion", (to blend in, avoid combat and look like the locals). No cammies, camouflage "gilly" suits, or face paint. You don't want the locals coming after you with guns and torches.

I hope this post will be helpful, so you make "responsible" and "reasonable" decisions about Christian/Survivalism.

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time ? "
(Luke 12:54-56, KJV).

Sorry. Supersoldier71. My Bible reads a little differently than your's does about what Christians should worry about.

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to ESCAPE all those things that shall come to pass, and stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36, KJV).

Why don't you read what the Bible actually says, instead of jumping to conclusions?
What I said was there will be attacks and the Lord will wipe out every one of them.

The squadrons of cavalry mentioned in Revelation 9:15-19, are released at the Sixth Trumpet, during the Great Tribulation: the last 3.5 years before the Return, so have nothing to do with the Sixth Seal event.
By their description, they may be tank battalions, but they are a plague prepared by the Lord and who they affect isn't the Lord's people, but all those who refuse to repent of their sins. Revelation 9:20-21

...........................................................................................................................................................

Ezekiel 38 describes the United States today.....In other words we are Israel

Ezekiel 38:12
"To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the People that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land."

This verse is directed only to America, and it could not be any part of that tiny nation of Israel, in the Middle East. That nation of Arab, Jew and those that call themselves Jew's,but are not. America's prosperity is not an accident, it is a blessing of God to His people. It is the fulfillment of His promises to father Abraham over 4000 years ago. Russia is planning to steal the land that God gave His people.

Ezekiel 38:14
"Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when My People of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?"

This is not Judah that God is referring to; that small nation in the Middle East bound up in strife and confusion. The true "Israel is now dwelling safely in their streets of the United States, England, Canada, and everywhere those Christian nations exist in these end times. While the United States lives in peace, the Jews strive for peace under the protective shield of the United States. It is the Christian nations that is being referred to here.

Ezekiel 38:15
"And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, and great company, and a mighty army."

"Thou" in this verse, is Russia. It is Russia that will come against "Israel" [the U.S.A., England and all Christian nations], for all of these Christian nations are trying to seek peace, and by it, they have compromised their security. They seek it through agreements, and trade and tariff treaties, which have no possibility of working, for they are created in lies and deception in secrecy. While we disarm, Russia and her allies are arming.

Yet in our blind faith, and with our foolish leaders, we continue to flaunt our strengths, destroy our treasures, and burn our arms. This foolishness was foretold some 2600 years ago by Ezekiel, as well as Joel, Jesus, and also in many other places in our Bible. We seem to be no smarter then our forefathers were at Sinai, when Aaron made the Golden calf, or in the House of Israel, following Solomon's death; when Jeroboam made the two golden calves to worship "Balos".

This attack upon us by Russia will be form the extreme Northern parts. It will not only be Russia, but a "company" of many nations with her. Though we believe many of the eastern block of nations favor binding ties with the Western world, "Gomer and her hoard" will not. Nor will Iran, and the Eastern Moslem nations; nor will much of northern Africa, and I also feel that many of the oriental nations.

Though English and other Christian nations have ruled the high seas and fed the world for centuries; many nations on the receiving end are envious and jealous of the blessings and prosperity God has given to us.

Ezekiel 38:16

"And thou shalt come up against My People of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against My land,"

Ezekiel 38:17
"Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by My servents the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?"

Ezekiel 38:18
"And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that My fury shall come up in My face."
When Gog [Russia] comes against the United States, it will not be the forces of any nation that stops her, but all the world will see, and know that their salvation is from God.

Ezekiel 38:19

"For in My jealousy and in fire of My wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;"

God Himself will destroy this army.............

WHERE TO RETREAT ?!

Naturally, North America, Europe and Asia are going to get pounded during the Apocalypse. For those who have the means, immigration to safer countries like Belize and New Zealand makes sense. However many of us lack the financial resources to make such a move. In that case, getting clear of any major city or military target will be the only sensible alternative.

I recommend selecting a city with a population of no more than 25 thousand with a resort or college based economy, (or both). When the economic collapse occurs and chaos ensues, the resort facilities and college will naturally close. As students and people working in the service industry head back to the cities, there will be a mindless reverse "mass exodus" going the wrong way. The population of (city ?!) will decrease considerably at this point, and for a short time supplies and resources will be abundantly available. This won't last long however, because eventually the government will repurpose all rail and commercial transportation for military use. There won't be any resupply of retail goods or food coming. Store shelves will empty in a matter of days. Any provisions that do arrive, will be meager and strictly controlled and rationed.

When you arrive at your destination, locate the local mail center and get their mailing address. You might as well purchase whatever you can, because shortly people will be throwing their money into the street, for lack of anything to buy. If you want to stay off the radar, use mail in "money orders" to buy equipment off the internet. You can have it delivered to the mail center and pick it up for a minimal charge. The trail ends there.

You'll not only be stockpiling provisions, but you'll also want to lay in a good supply of trade items. Things like solar yard lights that can recharge AA batteries, disposable shaving razors and shaving soap, hand soap, stick deodorant, toilet paper, candles, lamp oil and over the counter medications (antibiotic ointment and pain reliever) are some suggestions. These items will become the new currency of the Apocalyptic world. You'll want to identify locals who are practicing "subsistence" farming. They'll be your new grocery store.

Otherwise, you'll have to rely on foraging, trapping, hunting and fishing (subsistence fishing not sports fishing, think cast net or traps, not rod and reel), for food. The rule is, if other animals are eating it, you can probably safely eat it too. If things get really tough, you can stretch your provisions by adding ground up tree pulp shaved from trees to some of your food. During WWII Russians added sawdust to their flour. No nutritional value, but it made them feel full and it staved off the feeling of hunger. You might have to do the same.

How far back, is far enough ? Surprisingly, not that far. Most city folk won't venture more than a mile or two into the bush off a road before they turn back. If you are three miles in, you probably will go weeks without seeing another living soul. You can pack your laundry down to the local soup kitchen every week, where there will be washing machines and a hot shower available, (at least for awhile). Smoke and fire will be the biggest giveaway. Where ever you are, you won't be more than eight miles from a forestry tower. Make smoke only at night. Keep fires tiny at the bottom of a fire pit surrounded by stones to help hide the glow.

Building a bon fire won't save you from predators anyways. Bears and mountain lion know static fire can't hurt them. They've seen camp fires before. Thrown fire, (such as a hurled torch) is a different matter altogether. That will send any animal covered with fur running in the other direction. In my view, that makes a small size $3 dollar can of WD-40 with a bic lighter held in front of it, preferable to a can of bear spray that costs 50 times as much. A three foot long blow torch is sure to cause a bear to retreat in a hurry, and there's the added advantage of not giving your position away with the report of a gunshot. Wounding a large predator is a bad idea anyways. If you're going to shoot a 500 pound bear, you better know for certain you can kill it with one shot, because that's all you're likely to get before you get yourself torn to pieces.

By the way, untrained dogs make poor sentries. Someone is just as likely to locate you through the barking of a dog, as seeing your campfire smoke at a distance. Contrary to popular belief, predators are not dissuaded by a barking dog. Mountain lions eat dogs. Bears love to eat dog food. At the close approach of a 500 pound brown bear, the meanest pit bull in the world is going to roll over on his back and expose his stomach in "surrender" mode and "whimper" like a little puppy. I've seen it happen. Keeping a dog inside a tent with you at night for protection, is even a worse idea.

Predators hunt by smell, (scent) and hearing. If you're gone from your camp for longer than three days, a predator or opportunistic scavenger, will note your absence and come in to investigate. When you return, your tent will be shredded and your provisions will be rand sacked. I've heard leaving an AM radio on low volume, in your tent may dissuade a wild animal from entering it. Spraying a little WD-40 on the outside of the tent may work as well, it smells remarkably similar to gun oil. Animals, (especially bears) are not stupid. They're actually pretty intelligent creatures.

Suspend any unsecured food in a bag from a small tree limb at least 12 feet off the ground, preferably at some considerable distance from your camp site. Kitchen and latrine should be located no less than 200 feet from your camp. Fill in the latrine nightly and pour a capful of bleach on top it, if you want to keep predators, or uninvited company away. Bury your trash, or pack it out to a dumpster. A tidy and clean camp, is a safe camp.

WHERE TO SITUATE YOUR CAMP ?!

As I mentioned earlier, locating some kind of natural or manmade shelter you can secure and store provisions in, as well as shelter yourself, is of primary concern. Use your imagination, or check with ole' timers in the area, they'll know about any remotely located buildings in the mountains, or in the wilds away from town.

Don't locate your campsite next to rivers or creeks, dry creek beds or washes, or in ravines or gullies. Heavy rains may produce flash floods or mud slides that will wash away, or bury all your equipment. If you're in a canyon, and you see big chunks of dirty foam floating down a creek or river, you've got seconds to reach high ground. That's a precursor indication of a flash flood. A thunderstorm 30 miles away, can produce a flash flood at your location under a perfectly blue sky. A few years ago, a dozen hikers found themselves trapped in a canyon in Arizona under these exact conditions, and they all drowned.

Locate your campsite so you don't have to move across ridgelines or open ground to come and go. Try to find a relatively open patch of ground surrounded by small trees and light brush, but not completely covered by them. Don't place your camp in the middle of a game trail, or hiking trail. Don't put your tent directly under a tree in winter. When the tree becomes loaded with snow, the next strong wind will send hundreds of pounds of snow crashing down on your tent. Not good.

Nor do you want to locate your camp next to a large predators' den that shows recent activity. Fresh bones of elk and deer piled up, or fresh tracks are a dead giveaway. Don't trust Forest Rangers to give you accurate information about predator activity. I was told by Forest Rangers there were no wolves in Colorado. A couple of weeks later, while I was camping at Cache Creek near Leadville I heard wolves on the mountain. Two days later, a couple of wolves walked up to my camp. The local woodsman said the pair had been there for the last eight years. I also saw a brown wolf on the outskirts of Albuquerque NM. No. These weren't coyotes. I grew up in West Texas and I know what a coyote sounds and looks like. Spend a few days intensively surveying the area before you commit to it. It's called "situational awareness". Good Luck, but situational awareness beats luck hands down every time.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED CARRY IN YOUR BACKPACK ?!

This is what I carry in mine. A light flannel blanket. A space blanket. O.D. Green rain poncho in a pouch. One change of clothes. Three underwear, (and a pair of long johns). Extra pair of dry socks (thick, padded hiking socks). Three ways to make fire. Fishing line and hook. A small can of WD-40, (can help start fires in cold damp conditions, treats arthritis pain and sprains, and is even used to attract fish to a hook by anglers, it also keeps zippers working and serves as a standoff weapon in a pinch). Warm gloves. One knife sharpening stone.

You'll want to buy a couple of solar yard lights that use AA rechargeable batteries (throw away the stakes, and only pack the charger and the light component). A compact flashlight that uses AA batteries. Some light red colored tape, (to cover the light with and diffuse it). Heavier Duct Tape of course. Some lightweight .4 mil spec vis queen as a rain cover, or one man tent. O.D. Green Para-Cord, (don't pack cotton line, or box twine. It rots and breaks too easily). Field rations for three days. Only pack one small water container, there will be plenty of discarded plastic containers you'll find along the way.

I also carry a small AM radio w/earplug that works with AA batteries, a dozen or so small screw in eye hooks and some light but strong steel trip wire (Army surplus O.D green). Take a small finishing nail, hold it in pliers and heat over a fire. Punch a hole in the volume wheel switch on the radio, or the on/off switch, whichever works best. If you use the on/off switch, turn the volume up as high as it goes. Screw in the eye hooks on either side of a door frame. Attach the trip wire to the eye hook, and run it across to the other side of the door, then down to your radio. Attach to the volume, or on/off switch. Stick in the earpiece, and sleep perfectly secure. You've just rigged up a silent alarm. The same principle can be used in the woods to create a secure perimeter at night. Rig the trip wire about six inches off the ground around the entire perimeter, or just across a trail, or break in the foliage where someone may approach. Whatever works.

You'll want a pair of Bushnell 16 X 50 Power View Wide Angle Light Gathering Binoculars for security, ($66 dollars at Sears). This gives me quite an advantage over anyone, or anything else in the dark. It's as close as you can get to actual Night Vision Technology, for just a fraction of the price. Starlight is all that's needed for 100 yards of perfect viewing. Try them, you'll be very impressed. I guarantee, it won't be a waste of your money.

Important documents and i.d. in waterproof sealed bag.

That should be good enough to get you where ever you need to go. God Bless. And may God keep you safe in the perilous times ahead.

Ezekiel 38 describes the United States today.....In other words we are Israel

I really don't get the whole notion that America, or any other country for that matter (other than Israel), could be the end time "Latter Kingdom of Israel". The nation of Israel was created historically in 1948. It exists. Seems to me you're ignoring the obvious there. Calling America Israel seems rather whimsical to me, when the country of Israel actually exists.

"And I will send fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles.. " (Ezekiel 39:6).

There I believe is your outside Israel connection. Here the word "carelessly" actually translates more correctly as "negligently" according to KJV Bible commentary. Those who "dwell in the isles" could be a reference to almost any seafaring nation, (such as Britain or America), where substantial numbers of Jews do live, and who are detached from the political strife between Israel and her Arab neighbors. In fact, a national Harris poll in 2014 indicates 50 percent of the Jews living in America today identify themselves as being "completely secular" and said they "have no belief" in God whatsoever.

Since many conservative Bible scholars agree "Magog" is a reference to modern day Russia, and those who dwell negligently in the isles are destroyed "simultaneously" in Ezekiel 39:6.. I believe this verse is a very clear indication of a simultaneous "intercontinental" exchange of nuclear weapons between Russia and the United States. Which is exactly the way military experts say a nuclear war will be fought between these two countries.

However, it's quite a leap and pure conjecture to suggest this description suggests there will be an Arab-Israeli Peace Agreement at the beginning of the Tribulation Period. Although I can see where a superficial reading of Ezekiel 38:11 might lead one to that erroneous conclusion.

n2,

If the peace agreement is mentioned in Ezekiel 38, why would the arabs invade Israel (Ezekiel 38) after forming a peace agreement with them? Are you sure you're looking at the right place?

Hello Stephen

The prophecies of dwelling safely without walls can only describe America

Ezekiel 38:11
"And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,"

When has the State of Israel ever dwelled safe? When they became a nation their(Israel)name should actually had been Judah,as only that tribe returned ....The other tribes are still scattered, and will not be joined back until the milennium...

When Russia comes up against America,we're not even gonna have to fight,as God Himself will destroy that army

Ezekiel 38:16
"And thou shalt come up against My People of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against My land,"

The Russians are the offspring of the children of Esau; while the children of Jacob are the offspring of the tribes of Israel, both the true house of Judah, and the Christian nations of today.

One must really understand who Israel is and know that it's not just the Jew's over in the middle east, again only Judah returned, along with those that call themselves Jew's but are not

Revelation 3:9 "Behold, I will make them of the syna-gogue of Sa'-tan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."

Revelation 2:9 "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, [but thou art rich] and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."

These are of the evil basket of figs spoken of in Jeremiah

As Ive said many times Israel does mean just Jew's

n2,

Absolutely. I agree there will be a final (resurrection and rapture) event at the Second Coming, as indicated in Matthew 24:31. The Apostle Paul states unequivocally in (1 Thessalonians 4:13, 16, 5:23), there will be those who "remain alive" until the Second Coming of our the Lord. Does that mean there will be no resurrection of Christians prior to this final general rapture event ?! Will no Christians be resurrected before or during the Tribulation Period ?! You might want to give Revelation 6:9-17 and 7:13-14 a read, as well as (2 Corinthians 5:8). I believe it says exactly the opposite.
Absolut
