I assume you've had time to try and find a photo of new York in which stars are visible. When you understand why they are not visible in those pictures of new York at night, you will understand why they are not visible in the photos of earth we have posted.

Here's something else. The attached photo is the view out my window right now. Why is it dark here and not dark in the US?

The earth is not flat. If you can't take some parts of the bible metaphorically then you really are beyond help. You're a teenager, you need to keep studying. You can't shut down to modern science and crawl into a conspiracy web, it'll destroy your future.

Jesus made clear when he was making a parable. Psalms and Proverbs are also good examples.

Wrong. The curvature is far too pronounced to be explained by the "its curved because the map is curved". This highest point on earth is Mount Everest, which is 29,035 feet tall. Even if Mt Everest was in the center of the US, and the other transmissions originated from sea level on each coast, the discrepancy is just far too great. There would have to be a mountain, directly in the center of the US, which was more than 50 miles high. That's more than 264,000 feet tall.

Why should I care that you are going to spend your final years in high school believing something this absurd which will fundamentally disqualify you from entry into any good college and probably entail that you're career will either be a McDonald's employee or a labourer... This is where you'd need a lot of faith to believe this, but here's 1 possible explanation:

Its just a light that goes down, gets smaller, and gets light bright, to the point of being out of view.

Here are a couple, showing not only the curvature of the earth, but also stars and sunlight reflecting off of dust in the upper atmosphere (that's the thin luminous line). The space station is on the "dayside" of earth, which is why the dust reflects so well.

There's only 1 Firmament

"He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved." - Psalms 104:5
