  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1. Theres other "real" photos that show the atmosphere being visible, as a blue line, you can see it
2. There are NO Stars visible none at all. When I increase the exposure there are NO stars
3. Still its too big, logically, where is the south and north pole?
4. No. There reflection is visible in all the fake photos. Its typical of a physical model, or 3d render.

1. Then what's your problem? Photos taken from long distance won't show tne atmosphere. The photos you're referring to are taken closer and are angled to look through the atmosphere, like the one posted above.

2. You didn't increase the exposure. Exposure is determined when a photo is taken. All you have done is fiddle around with the colour balance. Here's a little experiment for you. Stand near to a street light and take a photo of the night sky with the street light in your photo. You won't have any stars in your photo. That's how light and photography works.

3. You can see Antarctica perfectly well in that photo. You can't see both the north and south poles in tne same photo! Put two dots on opposite points of a ball and try to see them both at the same time.

4. You'll need to provide evidence of this and why it backs up your point of view.

Finally, if there was some massive international conspiracy involving many thousands of people (as would be required if you are right) don't you think that they would do a better job so that it can't all be figured out by some guy on the internet?

That's why I was explaining thing and giving him everyday examples to help him learn, rather than just saying that he's wrong. Would you have preferred that?

My best friend is an engineer for the ISS, he has a photo on his phone of the Earth with the Sun; when I next see him I will get it from him and post it here; you may be surprised to see the Earth is a sphere.
By the way, it isn't Star Wars; stars aren't always dotted everywhere like the films.

Given how tiny the atmosphere is compared to the size of the Earth they would have to be a whole lot closer or heavily into the non visible spectrum.
2. There are NO Stars visible none at all. When I increase the exposure there are NO stars
You are not increasing the exposure, that only happens when the photo is taken. You are merely looking for artifacts in the low res web picture.
3. Still its too big, logically, where is the south and north pole?
Why is it too big, Africa is heaps bigger then most of the other continents, we are jsut used to seeing a larger version so all the more powerful, Northern Hemisphere countries can be clearly seen.

And the South Pole is clearly visible on the bottom of the globe, which means there's no way the north pole should be in shot.
4. No. There reflection is visible in all the fake photos. Its typical of a physical model, or 3d render.
Why would there be a reflection in a 3d model? If it's customised, they only have to put details in they want.

Have you decided if you want to talk about your flat Earth theories yet? Because you seem to slink away without discussing the bizarre assertions and falsehoods in your other threads.

In his case...Yea.

He's living in denial. He's so heavily indoctrinated, he's hopeless.

These are things that need addressed if you really want to help him learn.

Or maybe thats you...

Cause I came to these conclusions on my own. I wasn't raised Christian.

You're the one indoctrinated, through education and the media.

We are living inside a firmament.

Still not 1 real photo of the Earth has been posted.

Maybe...

Why don't we start with you describing what a "real" picture of the earth looks like? I have a feeling no matter what anyone shows you you'll deny it is real.

As to you "coming to these conclusions on your own" ...what church do you belong to?

Why does it matter?

I've had these views before going to church

God put it in my heart when reading Genesis.

It matters...to me. Is there something wrong with asking? You believe you know the truth right?

What church?

I'm not trolling. No one has successfully posted a photo yet.

Remember Armoured, the path to life is straight and narrow and few will find it. Just something to think about.

I despair of the human race if you are not trolling - or at least the American portion of it.

Everything is too complex with an order to have a form of stability - for there not to be a power keeping everything from going into chaos.

That in itself does not render a lot of actual information about God... at least to the extent you desire.

As something to actually get out of the philosophic mire, I would suggest getting into end times bible prophecy which will tenacle out to different things about God to get a big picture of God. Right now, I think you are looking at a piece of a puzzle, the shape, analyzing it to say this is a horse. But if that same piece were put in with the other pieces, via the end times prophecies, the horse goes away, and the bigger picture is Jesus. Which is what you are asking for isn't it? Show me a picture of God?

please have some mercy on me, as I don't hardly ever spend any time trying to convince atheists. Just making a suggestion, not pressuring you, okay?

I understand that, and agree. Jesus is the big picture, this doesn't compare. I still believe it is important. I am focused on the End Times.

Its an evangelical church.

Now there's a surprise.

Still, it would have to be an American evangelical church to be that nutty.

I'm not really surprised at this...I doubt anyone is. Would you say they support your particular views about the earth and reality in general? Or do they think the earth is round?

You probably think man and dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time too...yes?

A flat Earth is a special brand of nuttiness, which embarrasses even the majority of fundamentalists.
