The country I am from has been fighting for its liberty and identity for hundreds of years before America was ever found. It also fought through two world wars for liberty from Nazis. But carry on.

Vive La France!

Agreed. However what we see is a whole bunch of special pleading and taking things out of context. For example taking a single verse and claiming it invalidates certain sections of their holy book but not other sections from the same area. They then refuse to extend the same consideration to other peoples holy books.

I am not even going to try to follow this.

I agree. We can observe propositions.

For example what you said about "holy books."

A proposition would be both holy books have violence and peace.

That would be our first observation.

Then we would have to determine progression and regression as the next layered proposition.

After that would be a third observation on consistent message.

There are many others. So no, one cannot make a bumper sticker based on the initial proposition.

So we can go ahead and license all gun owners and create a national database for all weapons? Have yearly checkup on all weapons to ensure they are properly maintained? Have Remedial safety courses for people who do not follow the laws in a satisfactory manner? Since we are comparing them to vehicles and all?

Those are definitely options.

However will not pass Constitutional muster. The Second Amendment is an enumerated right. Car ownership is not. That is why the States can regulate car ownership and licensing.

Have not seen that. Would think a poor decision given the custody of evidence.

Maybe San Bernadino has one of those Sunshine laws regarding media access to a cleared crime scene.
A cop said they got all the evidence they needed, gave the keys back to the landlord and left. The land lord was able to do what ever he wanted with the place after that.

I saw the interview with his wife.

She stated, her husband would try to convert anyone he came in contact with, to his religion and he was pretty aggressive with it. From most accounts I have read, the muslim shooter was a pretty calm guy who never really bothered anyone and didn't talk about his religious beliefs to anyone.
Yes I was bothered by that. Especially when I watch someone claimed. That people would bug him about his religion.
Certainly, this wouldn't go over all too well with a radical Islamist, but I find it highly unlikely this is what prompted the attack, but it could be, that it accelerated the timing of the attack. I would be curious to know, why a government employer, would allow someone to evangelize their religious beliefs, to others at work, if indeed what the wife says is true.
I agree. It might have set him off. And he decided to do something right there. But I think he was planning something bigger.

Luke 19:27. Also see Matthew 10:34 and Luke 22:36

Why do you keep saying that? I give scripture for everything I say on cf. If it is not in the Bible, I don't say it.

Context is everything. Using your assertion you would be using the sword against your own family:

"Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven. "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father , and a daughter against her mother , and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law ; and a man ' s enemies will be the members of his household . "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it."

Matthew 10:32-39 NASB

A direct metaphor. He brings division based on proclaiming Him.

Don't know about you but that sword is evident during holidays with extended family.

Most all of the parables in the Gospels are about some aspect of the return of Jesus with a kingdom, and Jesus almost always talked in parables, so therefore we should base most of our doctrine on them.

Yes He will return as Judge. That does not give us the sword. God will avenge.

Ever noticed how the War on Terror has lasted 14 years, cost trillions & only boosted terrorism yet nobody says 'Maybe time for a re-think'?
Same as war on drugs

The world is a lot more complicated than a bumper sticker.

I'm talking about USA's war on drugs here. And the Mexicans and Latins are still Americans! they live there. Where would be be in Australia if we tried to isolate ourselves from our migrant population? They are ALL Australians to us and maybe that's another reason you have so much aggression where (with Republicans mainly) they isolate themselves from other migrants. I think you were all migrants originally like as in OZ

I believe you misunderstood. The countries involved in the drug trade are also Latin American countries.

The war on drugs also includes counterterrorism against the drug cartels (Narco terrorism).

If we stopped combating cartels our border towns would be run by them. A lot of people think the war on drugs is about people with a dime bag of pot in their pocket. It's a lot more complex.
