Of course, Obama will veto this.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Senate took a first step toward dismantling the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, and defunding Planned Parenthood, and now the ball is in President Obama's court...

...The "Restoring America's Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act" or less formally the "Obamacare repeal bill," passed 52-47, with Sen. Susan Collins (R- Maine) and Sen. Mark Kirk (R- Ill.) joining the Democrat opposition.

Whether he can veto it will depend on whether they can get a 2/3 majority congress can override a veto you know.

For the obvious reasons regarding Obama's response, presumed to be veto, and the counter.
Well, the counter could be pretty simple a 2/3 vote in both houses would do.

They only got 52 senators, with 2 Republicans joining the Democrats. How do you think they will manage to get 8 to switch sides?

I did not say that it was EASY. I just said that if they did so that would be enough of a counter.

Of course, that was fully expected.

Well...they've watched the House fail over 50 times so they thought: "why don't we fail as well?"
tulc(conservatives seem to really like failing) ;)

It's painful to watch. It's like they're slamming their heads against a wall, over and over again, shouting at their voters, "Look how serious we are!"

I'm not sure what they think the voters will think of this. "Hey, remember that health insurance you can get now, well forget it! We don't like Obama, so you're just gonna have to deal with not having insurance."

Uh, yeah.....

-- A2SG, not like they have any better ideas....the only idea the GOP ever had to make health care affordable and universal WAS the idea behind the ACA....
