  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Man, The Simpsons HAS to be the longest running show ever.

I just thought of it. I've been watching the show (not religiously) since I was 9......

Yes and no. It is the longest running cartoon tv series. Which really means nothing, since a cartoon could potentially run for centuries with the same characters, unlike human actors, who have finite lifespans. Mickey Mouse was created in 1928 and is still going strong 87 years later. Gunsmoke has the record of being the longest running live action series. It began as a radio show in 1951 and ran until 1975 as a tv series.

Lol! Of course she does, but she's an indoor/outdoor cat. It's about that time of year where she can't be outside.

Ahhh. My cats are all outdoor cats. One of the big toms running around here looks like a tribble from Star Trek now because he is growing his winter coat. lol

Does anyone think it would be worth the $50,000-$100,000 cost to obtain full domestic and international patent rights to an untested invention?
Untested? I'm not sure. What happens if you buy the patent and then discover the invention does not work? I guess it's a question of can you afford to take the risk? Nothing wrong with a little risk, as long as you can afford the consequences of either success or failure.

When I said untested, I meant that they had never been built full scale. I have two working prototypes of both inventions. The problem lies in the fact that one of them was designed to provide electricity for a home, but would be expensive for the average homeowner. But it could be scaled up for commercial application. The other, I think I might have a difficult time convincing people that it isn't a "perpetual motion" machine. It is basically a "re-invention" of 120 year old tech, but applied in a different configuration. One that doesn't violate anyone's valid patents. Ive seen similar devices online, but those don't actually work. Mine does.

Well, if you know it works then I'd say it's worth the risk.

It's getting dark here at this time of year. It's depressive. It was today already pitch-black at 5 pm.

I wouldn't like that at all. It gets evening time here very quickly, around 4pm it starts to get hazy. At 6pm it's pretty much dark out.

Well, it's the worst part before snow comes. It lightens the land up when it comes.
