So, I've been sort of chilling all day with this Halloween movie marathon on the AMC channel. Since I haven't celebrated Halloween in any meaningful way since I last dressed as the Grim Reaper in the 6th grade while being the one to answer the door to the trick-or-treaters in my house. And while it's hip to bash on slasher movies, I must say that John Carpenter did a genuinely good job making the first film. And honestly, the 4th and 5th ones aren't bad, either. In those two, I am genuinely charmed by Danielle Harris' performance that she gave as the likable but hapless child protagonist who is specifically targeted by Michael Myers. Apparently this was her beginning steps to becoming a pretty popular "scream queen" as of today. And of course, she is a beautiful lady to boot.
