CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

All you are doing is proving that it is religious dogma. Your position is impervious to evidence which is one of the signs of man made religious beliefs.

Religions can and do destroy lives and has been doing it for a lot longer than science in fact ever since the first god was invented.

Edward Jenner, a devout man, was responsible for the beginnings of immunology and in ridding the world of the scourge of smallpox. Want to try again? It was a christian that give you the vaccine for smallpox. All blessing come from God, all healing comes from God. If you are aware of it or not. I turned to Christianity for answers and solutions that science did not have. If science has the cure, the answers and the solutions then we would have no need for Christianity. Even science acknowledges that prayer and faith in God can help bring about healing.
The first sowing needle goes back 40,000 years. They had clothing long before they had science. You esp see this 20,000 years ago in the remains of people they find in the bogs where the clothing is so well preserved for all of these years.
Perhaps you want to argue that there is a connection between science and the industrial revolution. Actually the real movers and shakers were not at all about of the establish scientific community at the time. For example Thomas Edison was considered to be "addled" and he only had three months of official schooling. His mother did the best she could to teach him at home. Science failed Edison yet they have the ordasity to try to claim him and his discoveries as if "science" had done something.
So the theory that your trying to present here that science gives us all of that we have is a theory with more holes in it than swiss cheese. Actually the opposite is true. It is the rebels and the renegades that give us so very much. Like Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard and considered it to be a waste of time.
I do not want the food that science has to offer. The food I eat was developed by religious groups that came here to this area to avoid persecution. You don't even want to get me started on what science has done to our food and how this is the leading cause of sickness today.
I am not discounting the value of science at all. But science without Christianity is nothing.

What do you mean by hindus? Are you talking about the teachings of Buddha and Confucius? Are you talking about the Dalai Lama? I do not know a lot about their teaching, but I have seen little bits of it here and there. My brother is a Hindu priest and he will tell you that Jesus was the best teacher that ever lived.

I am talking about the people who believe in other gods and don't believe in your God or Jesus. That would make them against the God of the Bible. According to you, if God were real then anyone who is part of the Hindu faith should be scattered, yet they have remained completely intact for thousands and thousands of years.

We do not know for sure who does and who does not belong to God. The wheat and the tares are to grow together and then at the end of the age the angels will sort it all out.

Man drumming up false deities is like scientists drumming up theories, then treating those theories as if that's the way it happened -- no exceptions.
Even to the point of assessing others' mental states based on their compliance.
In that regard, scientists are dictators -- and they tend to have a low tolerance of those who don't play along.
