  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Of course you have.

Did anyone here actually doubt that he had? Lol

lol Can I help it that I grew up dirt poor and in a family that had to make 95% of everything we used? lol "Eatin out" was a loaf of store bought bread and some pre-sliced bologna. Seriously, I can count on one hand the number of times I had "fast food" before the age of 10. Most of what we ate was home grown and made from scratch.

When we ran out of store bought flour, we would go out and gather acorns, nuts, seeds, pretty much anything we could make into flour. Acorns require a bit of processing first, to get rid of the tannin. Not only is it bitter, but too much is poisonous. After we had gathered enough...

We would crack, then soak the acorns in fresh, clean water. This leeches out the tannin. Use only firm acorns, without bug holes. Discard any that float. Taste test them for bitterness. This may require many soakings. Once there is zero bitterness, grind them further and then boil the "grits". Now, you can discard the liquid, or skim the top and remove the acorn oil that rises to the top. You then drain the acorns, run them through a mill until it is a paste. You can either sun dry this paste or put it in an oven. Once it is dry, you can pound the dried paste into flour.

Its a lot of work.

Well, Tom Selleck said he wouldn't do it (for Hallmark) unless they agreed to doing AT LEAST 2 more after this.... so.... we have at least two more after "Lost In Paradise".

That was the deciding factor for me in choosing Jesse or TWD. TWD has viewers that wouldn't likely ever care about Jesse so they aren't missing me. Jesse however is an underrated movies series..... so it wins my attention to hopefully drive them to make more than just the two more that are expected.

I agree about Longmire though. Its not AS good as Jesse, but.... its a nice substitute even though it is good on its own.

The season that Netflix just added wasn't nearly long enough.... even though it added a lot of episodes. Longmire is better than Jesse just for the fact that there are multiple hours of Longmire, but only one movie of Jesse at a time. :(

It's just too bad that the new longmire seasons don't come out after the newest Jesse and end when a new Jesse is aired.
That'd be awesome if there are at least two more in the works.

Jesse Stone are very underrated movies. When was the last time a tv movie was actually good? It seems like Hallmark is committed, so let's hope it performs well.

Yeah, the season seemed so short-- but-- the episodes were actually longer! They were at or over an hour each. How cool is that?
I just love the show, and Longmire is such an epic character. "Good luck explaining this away, Walt."

"I'll be ready- and you'll be in Hell."

There is just no one else on tv like that. lol

On my mind: Feeling a bit of peace tonight. I have been through the ringer this year, including getting my heart broken, and tonight I actually feel good. I feel at peace, and happy. I had a great day. :)

What would you do if the mods made a new rule that you can only type in German to post in this forum? Huh? It could happen.
I'd be okay with good mornings and good nights. (my ex loved language, and German, so I memorized a few phrases)

German is pretty easy for me to translate even without using google. Some words are just so close to English, you just can figure it out.

Yeah. It's like a dumb down version of English. Lol.

jk, I actually think German is a pretty language. Especially when spoken

Agreed. :p

Latin would be an awesome language, too. I've learned some over the last few months.

IDK. To me, no matter what is said, I think they are talking about invading Poland or something. lol

I'm sure God is tired of me saying" thank you" a million times in 2 minutes.

That moment when if you were in a movie.... time would slow down and you would be left in slow mode saying.."Noooooooooooooo!"

When you drop your phone and its just above the toilet........

Then you thank God that the seat was down and your phone landed on the edge of the seat. Thank God my phone DIDNT go for a swim and thank God, I'm the only person to use this toilet.

Yeah, everything I read said that at least 2 more are promised. If they do well and there is money in it then obviously Hallmark wont let it go and it will be their Walking Dead.

Tom Sellek refusing to do it unless there are at least two more means he is likely more interested in the story (and has a good story through at least the 3 he wanted promised) than the money (After all, he WAS a HUGE star before and he still has other shows that are bigger than Jesse Stone that pay his bills undoubtedly so its not like he needed to be promised those paychecks.)

Its been a VERY long time since I saw a "B movie/ TV movie" that was actually good. At best they are usually just alright. I actually get really excited when there is a new Jesse Stone. The strange thing is, its not exactly a series of "exciting" movies. (As far as the action is concerned) Of course if there were a lot of gun fights and chase scenes.... especially on foot them casting Sellek would have been ridiculous.... but the role fits perfectly for him. Yeah he is old, but its an old cop.

Im also glad that "Suitcase" is back. I didn't like it when his character was just on screen without any real interaction.(It was still a good show, but.... wasn't the same without hearing "Want a donut? They're coply" "My body's a temple" type back and forth. :D

I will most likely end up watching Longmire again from the beginning (or at least this past season) while I wait for more Longmire and Jesse.

I love when there are new episodes/movies for the two, but when they are over it makes me sad when I know it will be awhile until I will be excited again where those two are the subject.

Yeah. It's like a dumb down version of English. Lol.

I think it all depends on the speaker as well. A woman speaking it can be a case of "I have no real idea what you're saying, but I don't care.... keep talking."

I think honestly if it weren't for Hitler, I think German would be higher on the list than French as a romantic language.

As far as if the forum went German, Id likely be gone. I speak a little German, enough to get the gist of what is being said, but not enough to be anywhere near fluent.
