I don't know. That's is a cop out. I will ask you again, think back to just a short time ago when you had faith, how would you have answered these clever questions you pepper believers with?

Perhaps I would have adopted a similar line of argument to what you have presented. Perhaps I would simply have appealed to faith and left it at that. As I said, I never felt the need to proselytise the way you do.Try, you are smart enough to attack faith in your new found life along with your atheist buddy's here, seems like you ought to recall what it was like when you did have faith? How would you have countered all these inquisition like questions????
Every once in awhile though, they will ask a question that is clearly answered from the Scriptures.
Then, when someone answers it, it just gets worse from there as they try to "save face" by taking the conversation down a rabbit hole.
By the time the conversation is over, no one knows what started it in the first place.
If you peruse the OPs around here, some of them are good, legitimate Bible questions.
But they quickly go sour after being answered.
This is why I don't think most questions asked are sincere questions.
They are just doors into hallways of ridicule by those who have some pent-up anger towards God and His word.
Consider this:
Joe & Suzie are living it up. Shacking up, going to bars, drinking, whatever.
Then Suzie gets saved and doesn't want to do that stuff anymore.
She wants to get married, she stops drinking, and she may even move out until Joe makes up his mind about her.
Joes says "sayonara" to her.
Then, realizing that Christianity is more than just a myth, but a "powerful force" than can tear a relationship apart -- comes here with a vengence.
I've seen it happen in real life.
And God help the next person that gives Joe a Chick tract.
Wait until you've been here long enough.Try, you are smart enough to attack faith in your new found life along with your atheist buddy's here, seems like you ought to recall what it was like when you did have faith? How would you have countered all these inquisition like questions????
I can wax poetic at times!Good points, I like that, "They are just doors into hallways of ridicule by those who have some pent-up anger towards God and His word."
Wait until you've been here long enough.
Eventually you'll get someone with the attitude:
"I was once a practicing Christian. Until I saw the [electromagnetic] light. Then I had questions my pastor/priest couldn't answer. So I eventually deconverted. Now I'm happy as a Studebaker. For the rest of you who won't follow suit, you're just [enter favorite insult here]."
When claiming faith in Gid is a fallacy we assume you have proof of a Godless universe, but when asked all you can provide is your faith in a Godless universe. You leave us with no choice but to observe your cause as a faith not a fact.
Thank you, sir!LOL! You have a good sense of humor. "electromagnetic" LOL!
You are incredibly ignorant about simple subjects, that isn't anywhere near true.Atheism is a belief about the universe. I call it a kind of faith because you cannot definitively disprove God.
The problem, AV, is that the answers given are unsatisfactory, or they raise further questions that themselves lack a satisfying answer. As an example, you seem to think that merely quoting Bible passages provides an answer and a definitive one at that.Every once in awhile though, they will ask a question that is clearly answered from the Scriptures.

How does one harbour anger toward an entity one does not believe exists? This is why I don't think most questions asked are sincere questions.
They are just doors into hallways of ridicule by those who have some pent-up anger towards God and His word.
Here's another example of the problem: you think a Chick tract is a satisfying way of answering questions nonbelievers may have. You might find a Chick tract compelling, but do you really think others are likely to? And if they don't, is it merely because they are harbouring some secret anger toward the God they don't even believe in, or is it because the arguments commonly presented in Chick tracts are wholly unconvincing?Consider this:
Joe & Suzie are living it up. Shacking up, going to bars, drinking, whatever.
Then Suzie gets saved and doesn't want to do that stuff anymore.
She wants to get married, she stops drinking, and she may even move out until Joe makes up his mind about her.

Atheism is the beginning place of all human beings, is the absence of a god belief. You are shaping atheism into what you need it to be in order to reject it.
A neutral blank slate is the beginning of the human being, Atheism as promoted is a belief about the universe. You can get angry and stomp around all you want, you are promoting a belief. Neutral atheist aren't here on the Christian form trying to undermine faith, they are taking advantage of their very short lives.
In the words of Mark Twain.... "Faith is believing what you know ain't so"
An atheist who has faith is not an atheist, he's a believer trying to act like an atheist or wishing he was an atheist.
No such thing as an atheistic faith.
I think The Messianic Manic said it well in his most recent video (from 1:22 onward): "I don't attempt to show that god doesn't exist. I simply try to explain why I am not convinced that god exists."A neutral blank slate is the beginning of the human being, Atheism as promoted is a belief about the universe. You can get angry and stomp around all you want, you are promoting a belief.
