Well, that is a VERY crude understanding...but, that is exactly what the data shows: less and less spiritual people in the physical realm. It's a spiritual exodus.

Now, see it as more than an emotion, and you are on your way. The logic you will need comes by way of value, i.e. there is something beyond and greater than organic, intelligent life. Or retreat. It's a choice.

OK. What more then an emotion should I see it as? Something being greater than organic intelligent life offers me no clues on how to logically see love as something other then an emotion.

How does one sense love? The only way I can "sense" love is by a process of logical deduction when I see someone being loving.

Sure you can. The species that came before dogs had a sense of hearing. That's where dogs got it from. In fact, all mammals get their sense of hearing from the same mammalian ancestor, if I'm not mistaken.
Now it's your turn. Where did this non-evidenced and supposed 6th sense of the spiritual come from and what is the biological basis for it? How does it fit into evolutionary theory?
