Not only the 66 books has been scientifically proven while the 7 books don't have the same pattern, this proves, with calculators, that added traditions of the canon got blown out of the water sky high still going upwards, instantly and accurately. While Catholics deny due to the papal systems propagandas, those that want to take a calculator and go to post #361, they can see the truths physicaly exposed right before their very own physical eyes. Simplicity and truths refutes the extra man made books and false traditions. The Protestants are ahead of their time. How do we know that these particular books are written by men without inspiration from God?
The Bible is adequate, but it is not sufficient. Sure the scripture contain what we need to be saved, because that is important. But the Bible does not contain everything we need to live Godly lives, unless of course you pick and choose various scriptures to create an opinion. The Holy Spirit lives within the church and guides us on today's issues we face.Well, that was fun, but the topic is the sufficiency of Scripture. All those who don't think it is adequate for its purpose and think the opinions of men are equally authoritative, please offer us some real reasons for thinking it to be so.
Stop goading. I already addressed this.and by those who don't...but nevertheless think that only God is entitled to worship.
It's also instructive to read back through the posts and see that it's not those opposed to saint worship, etc. who have resorted to personal attacks and insulting words. Think about it. People judge the merits of any disagreement here by whether or not that kind of thing gets resorted to, or whether a sound argument appears instead.
Yes He did. But that has nothing to do with taking Bible as the only authority. Catholics believe that God inspired every book as well, but we also recognize that the Holy Spirit is living and active in the Church.
True that you cannot rely on Scripture without spiritual help. You cannot pick and choose or interpret things without guidance. The Holy Spirit continues to work in the Church today. Through its clergy, religious etc. It helps guide people. It helps people to understand scripture, It helps direct people in their lives!!
Today, i had a chat with a religious about issues in my life / faith. You know, i am sure the Holy spirit was using her to help me!! This is the same with scripture / Bible. We need guidance and what better guidance than the Holy Spirit which works in and through the Church!
Do you mean 'stated' the Bible is complete. If so, when did he say that? When God started the bible is complete, we ought to take it seriously. The protests took it seriously a long time ago. The spirit had moved on to betters things
Fine, but disagreements over interpretation and worshipping the Bible are miles apart as issues.
If we agree that the "they worship the Bible" claim is bogus, that's a gain, since differences of opinion about the meaning of some or many Bible verses is a part of Christianity and affects every denomination. The point there is that it's the Bible that holds the answers, not something of Man instead.
Yes, we also stand when the Gospel is being read as a sign of reverence for Christ's teachings in His ministry. When I attended a Catholic service, I observed the Bible being held in great reverence and being kissed as mark of worship. This is something different from Protestant's treatment of the book.
Not men. One man, a heretic. God does not move his people to believe 73 books are inspired, and then 1500 years later change his mind.66 book and not the extra 7 books. In other words God moved through men to remove those extra books on purpose. If He did that then that means God doesn't like your extra traditions either
Ah... Hebrews 13:1. How could I forget. He said bugger off and stop adding to the bible and let the Protestants do the work of the holy spirit through the universal Catholic church.
Who is your pastor? Does he know your beliefs? He said bugger off and stop adding to the bible and let the Protestants do the work of the holy spirit through the universal Catholic church.

Are you aware that Luther also tried to remove James and Hebrews with the seven deuterocanonical. But that was to radical for his followers so he left them in. But he did place then in a 'appendix' to encourage people not to read them.
He was a man with his own agenda. Not moved by God. He wanted to push this 'sola scriptura' non-sense on everyone so everyone would follow him instead of Christ.
Really, you don't even know how your 66 book Bible came about? It ended as the 66 book however it happened
