Yes it does - but only around 40% of men ever experience that. Most of us have the dream, but when it comes to the "wet" part we wake up on the edge.

In my experience it's tended to be waking up as of after it's happened, which then means that there's a mess which needs to be dealt with. So that doesn't make it a very practical solution.

How about Matthew 5:30 / Mark 9:43 has that verse been discussed in this thread? I can make no other meaning, than as a reference to masturbation. (also considering the context)

Matthew 5:30: If your right hand offends you, cut if off.

I just wonder in these verses, why not just stop the masturbation, why cut off the hand? Is it like, both stop the masturbation and make sure it never happens again. Because this is really a hard issue that will determine heaven or hell for the person who struggles with masturbation.

Yeah, some guy who lived 2000 years ago doesn't get to tell me who has control over my body.

My body is a temple to my womanhood, my motherhood and my individuality. I am in charge and anyone who tries to take away my control and replace it with their own is defiling me.
I do not know whether you are still in this thread KTS, but you make an observation, that is remarkable: Until you become a christian, you belong to yourself (sort of).

Jesus had laid down the price to buy you - the sacrifice on the cross. He has laid the price to buy you, because he loves you with a big big love. If you decide to say yes to his love, by recieving the offer and by being baptized and by repenting, you will have an appointed day where he will marry you in heaven. You become a virgin waiting for her prince.

Jesus has laid down the payment for you. You could say, that it is the bridepayment, the dowry or what word you may use. Jesus has already declared his love for you, but he will not force you. It is a free choice. Totally free.

You can cut off both hands (you will probably need help with the 2nd one) and still be able to touch.

So, your main statement which you seem so confusingly (and disturbingly) passionate about is: "Men must have sex drive so that they will feel attracted to women, because they cannot be emotionally attracted to women simply because they are women. The majority of men also aren't friends with women (as if God has ever cared about majorities) and now for this incredibly contradictory point: Because men have testosterone, they are propelled towards women, ignoring the vast amounts that aren't because they don't matter. (Note: Due to the men-women thing, you should have specified and said that a man can't feel the love that he feels for one special woman towards all women, if that's what you were trying to say, but he can, so...)
I really don't see where you are going with this or what you are trying to say. Plus I do not think that you are including God in any of this except as the maker of testosterone.
How is your opinion that if men had lower sex drives they would stay single, in any possible way a problem to God? If men had lower sex drives there would be *less masturbation
*less weird fetishes
*less pornography
*less prostitutes
Plus there would be more
*brain cells?
*emotional bonding between men and women
*friendship between men and women
*peace
*marriages?
With less testosterone (on a very small level, just enough to lower sex drive to such a level that men aren't attracted to any gender purely based on gender) men would be friends with women, and they would be more emotionally involved with women, and eventually love (a) woman whom they would most likely marry more successfully than they would have if they were only attracted to women because of testosterone.
Has there not been a drastic increase in natural testosterone levels in average males in modern times? I don't marriages are becoming more successful or loving.
Anyway, you can live on in your personal world of sex drive attraction and testosterone propelling, but I will never accept your views as my own. Thank you for sharing them, though.

I agree that we no longer need to communicate. You are incapable of reading comprehension and the mere fact that you believe rape is about sex says pretty much all that needs to be said about your understanding of sex

You are incapable of articulation that is not ambiguous and vague, making it impossible for anyone to accurately guess what you are trying to say, causing you to resort to insults when someone interprets what you are trying to say "incorrectly".
Your philosophy of 'majority causes are to be considered the sole cause' obviously makes you incompetent to address issues that have multiple or ambiguous causes.
If two men decide to rape women because they want sexual relief, then rape is about sexual relief. If two men decide to rape women because they dislike the women's hair, then rape occurs because men dislike women's hair. Neither cause is the sole or major cause, but they are causes. That is how logic works. Your obvious emotional involvement in both the concepts of sex and attraction denies you much of this logic.

I have posted no less than 3 university links dealing with this myth you persist in. Rape is NOT about sex.

You know, I just think its best if you stop replying to me. This is my last response to you because you persist in your beliefs that are based in gross error.

I think ever Christian should have figured out that the Bible doesn't say its a sin, and God is the one that determines what's a sin or not as far as I'm concern.
But God seems to be very gracious and allows us to believe things are sinful that aren't, so Paul tells us what ever is not of faith is sin.

I am new to this site, but what is there to gain for those that post here that are atheist/ non religious and don't believe in biblical principles? One of the reason I joined this site is because another message board ( which wasn't about religion at all) was run by atheist and restricted Christians from speaking their opinions and sterotyped us all as hateful bigots. Only atheists, gays, and liberals could post their opinions. Christians ran the risk of getting banned or suspended.

The owners of any message board can set up the rules they want to run message boards by.
The owner of this message board has rules that are defined for the over all site and then there are specific rules for sub boards.
I think the main rule is to treat others with respect. Part of that being to call others names etc. For the most part that works well.

Hopefully those that don't know Jesus will see something that the Holy Spirit can use to speak to their heart and draw them to Christ.

It is always sin, (either mortal or venial depending on the cirucumstances). With or without porn, the sin still exists. (porn would simply be adding on). It is a misuse of a gift of God, (sexual pleasure), which is ordered to the proper end of unitive and procreative love between men and women in marriage.

The good news is, like with all other sin, a firm resolve, prayer, repentance and contrition can bring about change, and even restore the charity (love/agape/caritas), that is lost in the commission of sinful acts. In fact, the desire to do it will diminish and finally pass altogether. It seems inconceivable while under the hold of the sin, but with a sincere heart, this will pass, as all evil, as Christ is stronger than the demons.

Looking to lessen the sin by rationalization, is not repentance. It is instead the force which perpetuates sin. So rather than say, "well if I do this or do that is it still sin?", (the essence of rationalization, and the show of desire to go on sinning), you should instead ask, "what is my sexual desire properly ordered for? What is God's will for me?" And then, with prayer move in the direction of God's answer, the best you can with God's help, perhaps through an accountability partner of some kind (if you're protestant or secular). (a priest, if you're Catholic), and sooner that you could probably even imagine, the desire will lessen, and then fade away. Gone.

Sexual immorality is the most common sin of human persons. It violates several commandments:
It can be idolatry
It dishonors one's father and mother
It is adultery, obviously for the married, but for the unmarried as well, as all other vocations are called to chastity. Without the unitive and procreative aspects of sex, there is a violation of our state of chastity.
It is quite often covetous

We are all sinners. Sin is an ailment. Jesus is the physician, and His church is the hospital. Prayer is the medicine prescribed.

I'll pray for you. Please pray for me as well.

A brief look at offenses against chastity from the Catechism:

Offenses against chastity

2351 Lust is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure. Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes.

2352 By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action."138 "The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose." For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of "the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved."139

To form an equitable judgment about the subjects' moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety or other psychological or social factors that lessen, if not even reduce to a minimum, moral culpability.

2353 Fornication is carnal union between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman. It is gravely contrary to the dignity of persons and of human sexuality which is naturally ordered to the good of spouses and the generation and education of children. Moreover, it is a grave scandal when there is corruption of the young.

2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

2355 Prostitution does injury to the dignity of the person who engages in it, reducing the person to an instrument of sexual pleasure. The one who pays sins gravely against himself: he violates the chastity to which his Baptism pledged him and defiles his body, the temple of the Holy Spirit.140 Prostitution is a social scourge. It usually involves women, but also men, children, and adolescents (The latter two cases involve the added sin of scandal.). While it is always gravely sinful to engage in prostitution, the imputability of the offense can be attenuated by destitution, blackmail, or social pressure.

2356 Rape is the forcible violation of the sexual intimacy of another person. It does injury to justice and charity. Rape deeply wounds the respect, freedom, and physical and moral integrity to which every person has a right. It causes grave damage that can mark the victim for life. It is always an intrinsically evil act. Graver still is the rape of children committed by parents (incest) or those responsible for the education of the children entrusted to them.

2357
Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

stevenfrancis,
Well that is an interesting read ... I see what I would assume is the teaching of the Catholic church. I can't say God has ever had me spending much time
looking into what your church teaches.
Personally, God has asked me to live by what the Bible teaches, even to the point that He asked me to go to the end of my Bible and sign my name to it.

So I'm going to live by the Bible which says in Gal.5:1 For freedom Christ freed us. Stand fast therefore and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

To me I worship God when I live in freedom and not under the bondages of man. I presume God has asked you to live by a different rule. What ever the case, clearly masturbation isn't always a sin.

I think the modern church is far more liberal with calling God's chosen ones-now those saved by Christ-sinners than Jesus was. And under the old covenant the righteous Hebrews would have been sin-free if they did not have so many rules to follow. I'm sure many were able to follow ALL the law and were sin-free most of the time.

Sure we are sinners because at some point in our lives we will sin. But we might not sin daily. We might not sin monthly. With Jesus in our hearts and lives, we might hardly ever sin. Are we sinners? Sure. But far more often we are likely to be holy and righteous children of God, making good choices in Him and living how He wants us to live.

To focus on our sin-nature is a misleading perspective and does not give God the glory He deserves for redeeming us in Christ because it dethrones his warriors and army and church; it invalidates us as his holy army, which in turn reflects upon Him.

The fact is: He is good and when we have Him in us, we are holy and righteous. Not sinners! At least not in most of our moments.

There are more restrictive boards than that. PreacherFiles will get your IP addy banned if you so much
But we might not sin daily. We might not sin monthly. With Jesus in our hearts and lives, we might hardly ever sin.
I can tell you did not grow up in the same church I did. They taught that no matter how righteous you seemed to be, you still committed tens of sins every minute. Usually you were not even aware of any of them.
