I don't care for windows 8 either. Hopefully windows 10 is better... The things I dislike about windows 8 might be in windows 10 as well though...

Yep, thats why I fear a new set up. I disliked the move from 98 to XP, but it grew on me because it still functioned as windows.

Now the feel of 8 is like they are trying to make Windows their own version of a Mac. I LOATHE Macs. So, I LOATHE 8.

Windows 10 is "the best of 7 and 8 combined with all of the good and none of the bad". I dont take that hype as face value, I just hope its more usable than 7 and 8 combined.

If I build a new system this year.... if 10 is garbage I may fall back on 7.

The computer I have now was top of the line, but I bought it a week before vista came out.. (I bought it mostly cause I knew Vista would be garbage and didn't want my computer loaded with it)

I was told by the sales person "If you wait a week you can get Vista" in which I said "Since when has windows EVER come out with something that wasn't garbage on day one (It usually becomes usable after its been out a couple years and the bugs worked out). No thanks."

Microsoft just needs to make XP definitive edition and leave it alone.

I dont care if my computer has all sorts of "effects" and other garbage. IF I want my computer to entertain me.... Ill use it to watch a DVD or listen to music. I don't need screen transitions, hidden icons..... etc etc.

I heard vista was bad, but idk if I could tell the difference - that one came out when I was in college and so I used whatever the school had.

Yeah, windows 8 felt like a tablet, but thats the feel I got when I used Macs back in college (its what the school had) in the design department. I LOATHED going to class. I wanted to throw the computer out the window EVERY day. Since then, I have avoided Macs and anything apple like the plague. The Mac tried to be intuitive and it always guessed wrong. All I want is a computer that doesnt try to guess what I want, simply lets me DO what I want, without the frustrations equivalent to the auto-correct on my cell phone. I know what I mean to say, stop making me sound like a complete moron or psychopath auto-correct!

The south isnt that bad, the bad parts are being somewhere with a lot of humidity. Texas is nice in certain places at night. Unfortunately Houston is NOT one of them. Night simply means darkness here which really isnt fair. Even deserts get cool at night.

So I get a tooth pulled today and as I'm going to get the pain pills, my car overheats. Oh well, home now, and thankfully there was a breeze and it had cooled down already to like 90 so I wasn't dying as I waited to check the car out. I should ask some of the mechanics about why a car would overheat by the A/C twice in two weeks.

If its only a problem when the AC is running, Id say radiator. Id make sure its full and clean.

Hope your pain killers help. I hate the pulled tooth feeling. Although a friend of mine ripped his tooth out with a pair of pliers one day after work cause the tooth was hurting so bad he chose the less painful option.
