Perhaps you need to read the Bible for yourself rather then to allow others to spoon feed it to you.
Because It steps on your toes?It saddens and frustrates me,
Not bad![VERSE=2 Kings 22:14,KJV]So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college
and they communed with her.[/VERSE]
Actually when His mother asked Him about the wine Jesus response was "what do I have to do with thee". Sounds kinda disrespectful to me but there must be some sort of meaning in there. That was when He turned the water into wine. That I understand because we know water baptism is not enough to cleanse us. It takes the Blood of Jesus to give us eternal life. You need to realise that the Bible records "warts and all" and that whatever attitude men had to women, it was not necessarily God's attitude. Jesus (God in the flesh) clearly regarded women as being just as worthy as men. Also, don't you think it strange that if the gospels were merely made up stories by men at the time, that women would have been mentioned as being the first to discover the missing body of Jesus in the empty tomb? Don't you also think it would be odd for women to be the first that Jesus spoke to after the resurrection?
Education as far as what?Must be pretty terrible if you think "college" means a place of education in that passage.
I think that first of all we have to realise ....
I don't have time to go into the technical stuff that scientists deal with, but I place my trust in those scientists who start from the standpoint that God did it now let's find out how, rather than those scientists that have decided that no god is necessary as everything got going and organised itself all on its own.
I think that first of all we have to realise that there are two types of science. There is the type that forms conclusions based on ideas that be be tested over and over again with repeatable results when carried out in the same set of circumstances. That kind of science.....
.....Louis Pasteur's famous experiments confirmed the truth of that life does not arise from non-living material (abiogenesis). To believe otherwise is purely a faith-based statement as it has never been observed.
I personally prefer to put my faith in the account given in Genesis. I can't prove that it's true of course, but the Bible overall makes more sense to me if I just accept the straightforward reading of Genesis as historical fact as conveyed to us by God Almighty, who is the only one who was there and the only one who really knows for sure. You obviously take a different view and if you are comfortable with that then that's fine. We don't need to argue about it do we?
The Bible has a fresh new meaning for each generation to discover how they are to live in their generation. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. A fool is doomed to repeat them.I have read it, I have studied it and read it some more. It saddens and frustrates me, I wish we could rescue Jesus and his original gospel from the Bible books and leave the rest in a museum.
He wrote an app that the band used when they were marching on the field that made them one of the best marching bands in the country. Yet he was fired on a federal sex charge based on the results of an investigation when some parents complained. Based more on ommission not commission. Not on what he did but what he did not do.Education as far as what?
Having the best football team with a band that calls their cheerleaders by derogatory names?
You need a Bible to show you how to live this life and how to enter into Eternal life. The Bible shows us the way to be reconciled with our Creator. Why do you need a bible to learn from the mistakes of others?

Did you know the Bible tells us that in the beginning the earth was in a state of ruin and needing renewed.
Just like science tells us there has been many extinctions and population explosions (radiation). Jesus said you must be renewed, made new, born again.
You most likely are better at it than I am. They say I talk it better than I walk it.The bible says a lot of things. I don't need to rely on it to live a good moral life though. You may, I don't.

Some how some way the past is connected with our future. We believe civilization began in ancient mesopotamia and this is where the destruction of that civilization will beginning. There are indeed timeless spiritual truths within the Bible and scattered historical truths.
And exactly what was the "original gospel" you were presumably there to hear him annunciate?
You canm manufacture whatever idol you like for yourself, and call it "God", but one thing is for certain, and that is that it will be nothing more than a pale reflection of your own ego.
It is true that given time man tends to create God in his own image such as the angry, jealous, vengeful and erratic God of the OT. It is also tempting to make the writings of competing factions of holy men into Gods Word therefore and idol of it's own.
The God of the Bible doesn't come across as the kind of idol anybody would create for themselves. Which is why people today, including you, are busy trying to rewrite it.
