If there's something like that in their TOS I think the purpose would be to discourage things like one person trying to impersonate someone else's identity. There's a moral difference between trying to impersonate someone and calling yourself Humpty Doodle in order to avoid sharing your personal information with the whole world.
No. Facebook require you to use your real name, and you have to agree that to sign up.

I said in another post that we should expect further persecution. Righ now it is done in insidious ways but steadily it is becoming more open and accepted by the wider population.

Lets not despair, our brothers and sisters in the mid-east are facing far worse persecution they we are.
Being Unfriended on facebook is hardly persecution.

Yes they are...
But who knows at what point it will come to our land.
Hoping not - but look at the UK, Europe - etc.
Nasty stuff going on there too.

I was really surprised at how many FB friends put rainbows on their profile pics. Many were people I've been friends with in other states whose positions on gay marriage were unknown to me--but their positions, one way or the other, aren't deal breakers. They are my friends regardless.

The Supreme Court's decision on the ACA was more important to me. I'm sort of glad the gay marriage decision gives conservatives something else to kvetch about. Hopefully they will stop passing bills to repeal the ACA and acknowledge that it's been law for 5 years and it's gonna stay that way.

None of my FB friends wrote negative things about the ACA decision--a good sign, I thought.

But I have been getting lots of posts about flying the Confederate flag and it leaves me very disillusioned about my community. I try to remain positive by thinking about the friends I have made here--my fellow expatriates in psycho-confederacy land. There aren't enough of us, of course, but I just try to stay positive and remember that God has put me here to straighten these people out. They are my mission field.

Yes, that's a little bit tongue-in-cheek, but I have always tried to make the world a better place no matter where I've lived, and it's not easy to find a place that is in as much need of improvement as this.

Im off FB for a while til all the stuff stops.
I'm sick of it - and campaign time is around the corner and already started...
I see so many posts STILL blaming Bush for our messed up country and im like...o please.
It's almost 8 years and if Bush is to blame still - doesnt say too much for current leadership being unable to fix it.
BUT - the same folks blaming Bush also hate Obama - so its all evened out.

But FB has become a battle ground even tho i do my best to find funny meme's to reduce the stress. Cos seriously - i dont want to deal with it anymore. None of it to be honest.

So much drama over rainbows and southern flags. I wouldn't get mad at someone who posted "look at me, I'm a jerk", why would I get upset at this nonsense? Lots of good people draw different conclusions. I enjoy the opportunity to talk to them about theirs. I've never been unfriended by someone who I've challenged, but I've tried my best to be respectful and I think the people I choose to befriend are generally good people.

I need to reflect on this...

So anyway, I shared a photo that said "Marriage= One Man, One Woman". A gay man later defriended/blocked me over it and asked me "If I were to attend my brother's wedding if he was married to a man" (Of course not!).

Why is is that politics ALWAYS seems to bring out the worst in people? It's AWFUL. :( Sigh...
I think it's awesome for someone to find a soul to love, and to express that love through their desire.

Anyone is fine so long as it's not children or animals or inanimate objects, because that would be want not desire.

The irony is strong with this one.

Thank you WarriorAngel.

I seriously wonder what damage to countless souls these same-sex "marriage" advocates are doing. It's scary. Begone Satan! Christ is Risen.

You openly refer to homosexuality and same-sex marriage as evil and yet you wonder why this gay "friend" unfriended you on Facebook? Really? Think about it. If someone on your friends list posted that they believe Christianity or Catholicism is a cult and that all those who follow Jesus are evil hatemongers, would you really want to see that every time you log on?

You have a very strange understanding of what it means to be a person's friend. You do not have to agree with a person's lifestyle in order to be their friend but when you say that their lifestyle makes them "evil" then don't act surprised when they don't want to be friends with you. That's not how friends treat one another, regardless of religion or lifestyle choices.

I don't understand the alure of anonymity for the honest person. I don't think I have an FB friends who don't use their real name. A few women who have been stalked might use some changed-up form of their name and I get that, but otherwise I don't understand what good would come of it. We should be happy to publicly stand by our words and make our positions known.

THE above was posted yesterday.

I thot for sure my comment would make my friend unfriend me...
I said there is a difference between knowing what it's for and assuming. To my surprise other people chimed in agreeing with me. She said nothing and didnt retaliate even tho she has been pro-gay marriage.

But there are too many on my timeline and i'm just not into fighting everyone.
There are also people pro-straight [JimmyP] which i like to see.

It's too much in my face - so until it settles down - i am not enjoying it or having peace. It causes me anxiety i dont need.

I am a 2nd mom to at least 2 young guys who respect me that i was up front with them.
One in fact - used to post pics - i told him to knock it off he knows how i feel and he hasnt done it since cos he doesnt want to lose me.

I dont hide it - but i also show love and i was there for them in a heart beat without accepting it.

ETA - i see you werent talking to me. But put my 2 cents in about how i am.

You mean lust?
That's really all this is... hetero's confuse lust for love all the time too.
When it's about the body and desire - it has no staying power.

I find the most powerful advocates against gay unions are former gays who woke up and saw it wasnt right.

To my surprise i recently heard this one guy who had a live in BF for many years woke up - literally - one day and said 'Im not gay anymore.' and left his bf and now he loves women.

No one 'got to him' - it just happened.
I wonder if sometimes ppl dont 'come out of the lust' and finally see it for what it was.
It happens - and they should be heard on what happens to them.

No, lust is the acceptance of want and love tells us who's in want. No, desire is true life.

Facebook is nothing more than irrelevant individuals trying to be reliant to those who for the most part want the same think for themselves. It's a pageant for peacocks to strut their stuff and inform others just how ludicrously juvenile humanity can become when we think we are safe in our anonymity

Getting on the band wagon for some cause or the other is quick and easily done with a thoughtless click of the mouse.
