You were there?He did not.
Because It's sitting on my shelf?I wonder why you actually think that there is any "documentation" of this.
That sounds like something Eve heard.Just because the Bible says it doesn't make it true.
You lost me here, Ivan, sorry.
I'm asking why God documented that He did it in six days.
If you're saying those six days are just a metaphor for something much bigger, then what about the order of the metaphors in Genesis 1?
Is the order just a metaphor as well?
How, for example, do you have angiosperms before the sun -- even metaphorically?
Okay, Ivan, thanks.Well genesis says that earth was created before the sun, so earth was created then the solar system then the stars, they did not know the "stars" also included galaxies compounded of billions of stars each.
and even before the events in the above paraphrase the Plants were created but no sun yet, no photosynthesis, until the next day. (now this will be a very short day otherwise the plants will die).
But you expect the people 4000 years ago did not know the order of the events to make a logical flow so they accommodated the inspiration on its own words, according their own culture, I will even say the very early story was passes by mouth only until scripture was developed.
How the crap do you get to stay on this site?
We are Christians not dumb! God is supreme science, to deny science is deny God. We need to have faith and believe but we need to examine every thing and retain the good and truth.
Science is a converging truth, on the edges needs polishing but the core is solid base in eternal truth.
I do not see contradiction between science and God, the detail is that science is imperfect but we know it, God is perfect but we do not know him very well.
In the limit to the infinite Science will meet God. because science is the search for the truth. Here and there has to change and polish itself but the change is a positive turn towards to the universal truth.
You were there?
Ha! Were you there?
No, I wasn't there. I didn't witness anything in the Epic of Gilgamesh either. But something tells me stories involving talking animals aren't likely to be true -- unless there's truly colossal evidence to outweigh their silliness. I apply the same standard to stories involving witches or goblins.
Not to mention, even if God did write Genesis, why should we trust him to tell the truth?
Go and compare an "evolution science book" written by man against the King James Bible. The "evolution science book" looks like a joke.
Look around you. Do you think the seas, mountains, the foundations, the heavens and everything in them were created automagically? It is clear down to the common man that there had to be a creator.
But which creator? Who, what, when and why? Go and compare an "evolution science book" written by man against the King James Bible. The "evolution science book" looks like a joke.
How much talent does it take to create a sock that's more annoying that the original?
Because It's sitting on my shelf?
Au contraire.Pity that there is ZERO corroboration for the more... out of this world stuff in this "documentation."
Some figment.
If Bible-god [sic] is a figment of the imagination, then why did those who initially documented this Bible-god [sic] willingly go to their deaths?
