I am amazed at the number of my evangelical Brothers and Sisters who insist there must be a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. Sometimes I wonder if they have actually read the New Testament verses, which reveal that Christ and His Body are now the Temple.
Some are even helping to fund the effort.
There is no doubt that plans are underway for the construction.
Temple priests have already been selected and their garments are hanging in their closets.
One of the holdups in the past has been the Dome of the Rock, on what most people consider to be the original temple site.
However, recently some scholars are claiming the traditional site is not the correct location.
This may open up the possibility of using another site.
If they build it, who will come to occupy it?
The following verses from the book of Revelation may give us a hint.
Rev 2:9
I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but arethe synagogue of Satan.
Rev 3:9
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
Rev 11:8
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
