praying for your dad, and for you too....
Thanks sis.

Praise the Lord, I have finally gotten over this nasty bug. This morning is the first morning where I feel much much better. Glory to God!!

I'm hoping to see Dad this afternoon. His wife said that he is speaking more when she visited him yesterday evening.

Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Thanks Brinny so much.

Update - Dad took a turn for the worst today. After church, I went to drop my kids off at my mom's so that I could go to the hospital to visit him but I instead got news that he was dying. When I arrived at the hospital the doctors had managed to stabilise him but they said that he had now developed pneumonia and he was back on a drip with antibiotics.

Other family members (dad's brothers and sisters) had been contacted and I had arrived there with my sister coming later.

It still amazes me though how the Lord works because as I was rushing to hospital I asked the Lord that He would keep my dad alive and that my dad would not leave this earth until he got saved. I 'felt' as though the reply back was that he was not going to be taken that afternoon. By this evening they had taken him back out of ER and he was more alert than he has been these past few days. Before he drifted back off to sleep I managed to get more speech and lots of smiles through his oxygen mask.

I was just wondering if you guys can continue to pray us here but also over the following:

1) I told my minister today about my dad and the fact that I had previously asked him whether I could pray over him. My minister said that when I next visit him, just pray over him and don't ask him. I didn't feel comfortable about doing this so when I arrived and saw him in ER, my dad gave me a big smile through the oxygen mask. So I instead asked him again whether I could pray for him. He very clearly said 'yes' but as soon as I began to pray for him, he went back to his usual responses of mumbling as though he was protesting about me praying for him.

2) Later in the evening my cousin came to see dad (dad had gone to sleep in his bed), and I told her about how he reacted to me asking him if I could pray over him. So when she was by his bedside, she instead closed her eyes while he was asleep, laid her hand on his head and prayed silently in her head. She said that it was as though she had to pray for the Holy Spirit to break a stronghold on dad's mind regarding him being receptive to the Gospel and to pray that the Lord will protect my dad from the enemy wanting to take him. After she had finished praying and opened her eyes, she said that my dad momentarily opened his eyes turned to her and smiled before returning to sleep. My cousin urged me to pray over my dad before I left hospital today.

3) Before I left this evening, I went in to see my dad. He was in deep sleep, so I rested my hand on his arm which was over his chest, with the other hand on his head and began to quietly pray (just loud enough for him and I to hear). As I stood in agreement with what my cousin had prayed for I also asked the Lord to open my dad's spiritual 'eyes and ears' so that he would be receptive to the Holy Spirit. I would end each sentence with, "In Jesus' Name", but in doing so my dad stirred ....but he stirred aggressively whilst still sleeping. He went as far as to weakly shove my hand off his body. He partially opened his eyes after the third "In Jesus Name" and turned his head towards me but his eyes were vacant. I paused and calmly said to him that I was about to leave him and for him to try and rest. The vacant stare disappeared before he closed his eyes and returned to sleep.

I'm about to lift all this to the Lord before going to bed this evening. I feel weary but feel also that the Lord is with me so I don't feel anxious/worried. I appreciate all of your prayers and humbly ask if you can keep my dad and the family lifted up in prayer over the next few days.

God bless you and thank you again.

PS

Apologies in advance if I do not get to come online over the next couple of days, I'm back in work tomorrow, plus I'm hoping to visit dad again in hospital after work, but I will try to keep you all posted in the days ahead.

I'm just believing God by faith that my dad will not leave this earth an atheist and that he will be saved.

Awwwww precious, check in when you can...in the meantime i'll be lifting your precious dad up with all of you and ev'ry one praying in agreement here. Will continue praying. Asking the Holy Spirit to intervene as only He can and to break any strongholds and pierce the darkness, shattering and scattering it, and shine God's inexplicable Truth and Light into your precious dad's heart, and mind, and soul, winning each one. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen.

I was wondering if someone can stand in agreement with me these next few days.

I feel that it is of no mistake that out of us kids, me - the believer - is so ill right now that I cannot visit my dad in hospital due to the current flu scare. I've woken this morning still thick with a cold. They definitely won't let me onto his ward to visit him today.

My dad was rushed to hospital on Christmas Eve non responsive with a bad kidney infection. He has dementia and at 80 we all thought that he was going to die.

I had a mild cold on Monday then had a sore throat Tuesday, Christmas Eve I was able to make it to ER to see him and he responded to hearing my voice but was still semi-conscious. When I had to leave it was the most I saw him move :(. He settled when I said I would come back to see him on Christmas Day. I was too ill to see him yesterday. :(

I've been praying that the Lord keeps him alive until he gets saved or at the very least he hears the good news during just one lucid moment before he slips away. So far, he has been stabilised and is responding well to the antibiotics - I'm now just working on getting well enough to visit him again.

Please pray that those caring for him know the Lord, that one nurse, one porter, one doctor can quietly sing to him, talk to him, share with him the gospel in such a way that he can reconsider his decision to reject the Lord.

Pray that the Lord surrounds him with His ministering angels to encourage him to hold on.

It's heavy on my heart to see him in the next few days. Could you guys pray that the Lord will heal me enough to be allowed onto the ward to see him. I've regained my voice but my head feels as though someone has hit it with a hammer.

God bless and thanks.

Saints thank you so much for your prayers and standing in agreement with me these past few days.

I went to see dad last night. He has progressed from nearly dying on Sunday and being diagnosed with pneumonia, to last night where he is now off the oxygen mask and has moved back out of ER.

When I saw him after work he was asleep but his wife said that earlier yesterday, he was speaking a little more coherently. :)

I know that he will be leaving this earth soon (it is doubtful that he will leave hospital) but I am taking much comfort from the fact that the Lord is intending to carry him up to Himself and is merciful enough to keep Him alive until he gets saved.

I got a very faint smile when I told him that you guys were praying for him and he allowed me to lay hands on him and pray for him last night.

Thank you so much for continuing to pray and as always I will keep you all updated.

Bless his heart, and yours precious. Praying that God's steady, gracious hand is upon him and that He moooves in ways only He can, to remove all blockages and obstacles to God's Light and His Truth, and your dad sees God's inexplicable love for him, and your precious dad embraces God through His only begotten Son. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen.

Thank you once again for all your prayers.

Update - Dad was a little stronger yesterday but had blood in his urine. The dementia was pretty bad yesterday to the degree that he didn't recognise me and was swearing at me. In all of that though I had to still give God the glory because I could decipher what he was saying to me in parts which would not have happened a couple of weeks ago. So prayer works. :)

I just wanted to thank everyone again for the fact that you have been keeping my dad lifted in prayer.

I will continue to keep you posted as to his progress.
