• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, that is a strawman.

No, that is evasion.

He will now claim that he has no position. HE keeps it that way so he can try to poke holes into other people's positions while remaining safe in his non-position.

Would you like some links to some posts to show you that you are incorrect?

Just like we do when we compare other things designed and not; we develop criteria based on observations. However, we cannot do that until we get there (see the other universes).

Did you forget my question?

Does the design of certain products give the appearance of design? Yes or no?

We can recognize what something designed "looks" like right? Yes or no?

I've not gone anywhere. Why did you start evasion responses when I asked you this?

There was no evasion on my part. You post was responded to, pointing out your rudeness of not answering questions put to you while expecting yours to be answered.

What criteria do you use to determine if something is designed?
Delphiki
For starters, it's possible to witness someone designing said thing.
Anything else?

An interesting question of which I have an interest. What many, such as archeologists, use is evidence of manufacture. If something shows signs of deliberate physical alteration then design can be inferred with a good deal of confidence. Otherwise unless we have a known history of design I can't see any good way of knowing.

I do recall where we left off.

You will need to first show me a universe that was actually designed.

Would complexity be an indication of design? I think it would.
