So I just got done watching the horror movie "Insidious" and yes I know some will say horror movies are a sin but they dont have a bad effect on me personally I realize its just entertainment. Anyways in the movie there was a lot of "ghost" apparitions and things moving on its own and even one slapping a girl lol, but one of the exorcist ladys said it was a evil demon haunting them and I was thinking do demons mislead people into thinking when you die you stay on the earth and you just walk around haunting places?

I think ghosts are demonic impersonators. They have had thousands of years to study us and our behavior. There are human swindlers that can convince us they are family; imagine entities that have lived in spirit for very long looking onto us.

God said even Satan can be an angel of light (deception.) Furthermore, we know that absent in life is present with God. The dead are awaiting resurrection/judgment. Why would they want to come back here to "make closure?" They are in the presence of God; quite frankly leaving Him isn't worth seeing even my mother.

Ghosts are deception. I have had my dealings with them; if you don't play ball, they become nefarious. Even if they weren't invited in the first place.

My position: There are no such things as ghosts, and there's likely a rational explanation for those who claim to have seen one.

If we're talking the "angry spirit" sorta deal, I don't dismiss demonic activity. So, sure, I can't think of any reason to dismiss out of hand the possibility that ghostly activity is in fact demonic activity. Though, again, my first response is to be suspicious and assume it's purely the product of an active imagination.

It's not the sort of thing I'd be losing any sleep over.

You are deceived in believing that horror movies do not effect you.

Jesus did not tell us to take heed what we hear without a reason.

"Ghost" are apparitions or appearances caused by demons.

Once a person dies they do not "come back" or stick around they go either to heaven or hell, no in between.

A saved/born gain person (Rom 10:9) goes to heaven.

An unsaved person goes to hell.

Do not let movies be a part of your source for truth.

Just my belief..
While some "ghosts" are demonic in nature, others do not cause harm, either wanting to get help moving to their final destination or just wanting to be left alone.Proof?I have no concrete evidence, thats just how I believe it is.
I can sense a presence in my house, but it has never bothered any of us.

Ghosts are real. But I very much doubt you'll see any wandering on earth, since all of them are safely locked away in Hades. The only time a ghost can escape the realm of the dead into that of the living is if Jesus wills it, as He is the only one in possession of the keys of the gates of Death and Hades (Revelation 1:18).

All those stories about people seeing ghosts are either lies or probably demons pretending to be the spirits of the dead.

You are right - the ghost phenomenon is just demons.

Biblically speaking what do you mean "wanting to get help moving to their final destination" Heaven and Hell are the only 2 destinations and from the parable of the Rich man and Lazarus, angels will guide us to Hell or to the place where the worm dies not.

Ain't no ghosts, demonic or otherwise.
I'd say this depends of one's definition of ghost. If we go by what's presented in the OP I'd agree. But if we're including what happened at the Transfiguration or an event cause by King Saul, well.......
Now from reading some of the responses I'd say a few have Ghost Busters theology. Meaning they derived their theology from that sort of movie.

A "ghost" phased through my shins as a ball of light initially.

A "ghost" moved my parent's 500lbs sleigh bed several inches while sleep (you can see the carpet indentions; fitful sleep doesn't do that.)

A "ghost" appeared as a male apparition, staring my grandmother in her face at bed level, and my uncle came in and saw this same apparition after turning on the lights.

A "ghostly" present made even my cat fearful of going into a room, fighting my pushing over the threshold every time.

A "ghost" texted us when praying, calling my mom a female dog, only to find out the number never existed when we immediately called back.

A "ghost" scratched me while sleeping - in lucid dream - with the claw marks inverted (i.e. in no direction I could have scratched myself.)

And, there is so much more. Hollywood may sensationalize the spirit world, but that shouldn't suggest it is not real. I have been assaulted by these entities - ghosts, demons, whatever you want to call them. My family has traceable back many generations. They are deceptive, nefarious entities that work on deception...even if that deception is convincing people they do not exist.

Angels make themselves known; they do not go through hoops to mask their identity. And, often they appear as physical humans, not ethereal familiar spirits. This stuff sounds wacky until you experience it first hand. Then, you become the one crowned with a tin foil hat.
