• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is non trinitarian here.... Jesus doesn't have the Father in him, they may be seen as "one" in that Jesus did all the Father wanted but they are truly separate persons of the trinity.

Do you mean to tell me I cannot post scripture here, you see I've stated nothing of myself of non Trinitarian, make of the scripture what ye will.

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Col 1:19 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Gibs, there was plenty of Scripture provided for your consideration - and in almost all cases you chose not to respond or even consider it. What you're doing in this latest episode is parroting a claim that Scripture already proved to be false, and you elected to offer no comment to it. This is similar to repeating a fallacious straw man five times in recent posts and pretending that it is valid each time. It was you who demanded our acceptance of some supposedly divine commandment to adopt your unBiblical and unholy 'sabbath', and you can't find one scrap of support from your KJV Bible for your contention.

As I mentioned, my role here isn't to help you remember what you've posted. That remains your responsibility. A discussion forum is a good tool to encourage edification and learning more about the common faith we as Christians share - but if you can only resort to ad hominem, non-existent "commandments" nowhere applicable to the audience, and straw man presentations, it isn't going to benefit your participation.

No, you are not my guide dear VictorC and I see scripture in a far different light than you do.

You trash some and I do not,

2Ti 3:16 "All" scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

So are you breaking the rules here or not? From what I gather you go around telling people that rules are not to be rejected but reject rules of the forum by posting here.

Why then are you unable to defend the nonsense you've posted? And, in addition to Sophrosyne's point that you don't comply with forum rules regarding the trinity, I remember your recent post claiming a soteriology of sinless perfectionism in deference to the Nicene Creed CF uses for their standard to define Christianity.
I pointed out before that you've contradicted more Scripture than you can find sound-bites to defend your opinions. It is obvious that your claim above is patently false. Just look at the long list of posts you haven't responded to the content within!

I would just request that you quit agitating the subject as I had no special agenda to post about the subject for or against.

I am not trying to discuss trinity or non here, some scriptures I posted for other reasons upset Sophrosyne but where it is allowed I would like to very much.

No I don't respond to some things that you imply because you think certain scripture state different than I find. I see no use and I really see no use in your and my discussion here as you or I are not going to budge one bit.

I'd really prefer to drop this conversation with you.

Where it is allowed I would like to discuss what is orthodox and what isn't also.

I suggest we end our confab now.

I leave you in a friendly Spirit, Gibs.

So when are you going to believe what it says?

Ah, Bro. Scratch I sure do and I do keep the Sabbath the Seventh day!

Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

You certainly have a weird way of bailing from discussion. First, you showed that you don't believe Mark 2:27's assertion that the Sabbath was made for man, when you appealed to the passage quoted below from Hebrews chapter 4. Second, you repeated a lie by implying you 'keep' the Sabbath when you already showed that your unholy "sabbath" isn't found in anywhere in Scripture.
This describes God's rest, and there isn't even a hint of the Sabbath that was made for man. This is the promise that remained for those who already had the Sabbath (v.4:1).

Notice the translation error the KJV makes in verse 8. You won't find Jesus described anywhere in the historical account of the provocation (Numbers 14). But, you will find Joshua son of Nun in this account, which conveys the same term in the Greek. The KJV is more a transliteration than an accurate translation, and while it serves well most of the time, the translators didn't take the context nouns appear in into consideration. Almost every modern English Bible corrects this well-documented mistake.

Nix, No! Scriptures don't lie, it is only men who misinterpret them that misconceptions develop.

Sabbath was made for man and carries the meaning, seventh, not first.
Just where was the Sabbath given to all mankind? I read that it was given exclusive to Israel. Did Moses lie? Did Nehemiah lie? Did Ezekiel lie? Did Jesus lie?

Again you refused God's "My rest" the Sabbath didn't provide its entire tenure. You're only fooling yourself by sailing away with some other "jesus" the cults create for themselves.

In the great judgment that is now at the doors many will find how seriously wrong they have been. And what will be what the judgment is determined by?

Uh Oh,
Jas 2:8 ¶ If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

You can try to manipulate me with fear about the judgment all you want. I read this in my Bible and believe it -

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
