There are verses in Revelation which speak of the ungodly being cast into the lake of fire and consumed; the second death; eternal destruction.
There are also verses which speak about eternal damnation for those who reject the Lord.

As darkness is the absence of light and cold is the absence of heat, evil is the absence of God. Hell is the complete absence of the Lord; the one place in existence where God does not dwell. It was created for the devil and his fallen angels. Those who rebel against God are no different from the angels who rebelled against God. They separate themselves from God during their life and that separation continues after their death. It is they who make the decision where they will spend eternity by their acceptance or rejection of the Lord.

Don't blame God if you end up in Hell. You will have earned it.

Who said anything about rebelling against God? I thought we were discussing the atrocious behavior of Yahweh and El in the bible. I like God. If atheists believed in an intelligent creator, author of quantum physics, they'd probably be okay with it too. Hard to rebel against that which they don't believe in... and I'm certainly not rebelling against the Creator. I'm showing you that the Canaanite gods Yahweh and El are pretty despicable characters.

I choose a religion based on theology that agrees with scripture. I am a Christian because of the Author and Finisher of my Faith, Jesus Christ The Lord.

Nobody says that our ancestors were chimpanzees. Besides that, apes demonstrate social moral concepts against stealing, violence, murder, etc. You really should study some of this. I suspect your lack of study is why you felt confident going into this discussion, and why you seem frustrated now.

The question was about the eternal fate of atheists.
The Scriptures tell us what becomes of disbelievers.
Would you prefer that I lie, and say that everyone goes to Heaven?
You can earn damnation but you can't earn salvation. You can only accept what is freely given to those who accept the Lord into their lives. Those who reject Him are condemned by their rejection.

No anger whatever.

Seems like quite a few on this board, that claim to know exactly what God is all about and how he judges as well.

The wages of sin are death. Not much in dispute there.
No man comes to the Father but by me. Pretty self-explanatory.
We can tell you what the Scriptures say is the consequence for sin, but that does not constitute making a judgment on the heart of the sinner.

You can't expect to spend eternity with a God you reject. That isn't a judgment, but a warning. If we didn't love, we wouldn't warn. We'd snicker as you slid your way to Hell. That's not what Christians do. We can tell you that you WILL face the judgment of God for your actions because He told us so. We all will. It isn't for us to decide who goes to Heaven and who does not, because we have no idea on what will happen with your spirit between now and the day of your judgment.

Hopefully, before you die, you will find peace with the Lord through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
