I meant "blanket", not bag. I will elaborate on my refutation arguement and make it coherent. Breastfeeding in public is a very unique situation, because it's the only eating situation (you said that babies consider it "eating) that involves showing a body part in public that normally would be considered indecent exposure.
Is the issue that it might be otherwise illegal or that it involves a social taboo for your culture?

Women should be considerate and courteous and understand that not everybody wants to see her breastfeeding in public.
People should be courteous and understand that nobody wants to eat with their head under a blanket.

So I can't campaign to for restaurants to ban offensive bigots to save me from hearing their bigotry?

This is pretty much a blind post, as this thread is over 50 pages long and I've only read a handful of the posts.

I've seen mothers breastfeed on a few different occasions, publicly. It's never phased me or done anything for me temptation wise. In fact, sex is the farthest thing from my mind when I see something like that. I don't know, I think of it more as an instinct thing - so I don't quite understand the person who feels tempted by that.

Would you want a blanket over your head when you are eating?
It's not coincidence that the focal length of a baby's eyes early on is the distance between breast and the mother's eyes. Eye contact while feeding is an integral part of how mother and baby bond.

Oh then they should get a sort of tent and pull it over their own head too, LOL. I don't care if I see it and it's sweet, but let them have a room in the restaurant where they can do it. They have that here at the office. It just looks so stupid in a restaurant and some women feed their kid 'til after a year, it's not just sweet little babys. Anyway if my kids see it they start to yell: MOMMY I SEE A BREAST!!!! so if noone gets offended by that, I don't mind either.

If you aren't prepared to support another mum caring for her baby as god and nature designed, why should anyone else support you in passing on your hang-ups to your kids. Why you would want to proudly advertise your kids bad behaviour is beyond me.

And yes, children should be breastfed for at least a year.

So if men are, allegedly, somehow "naturally" tempted by the sight of naked breasts, what happens when a fellow guy suffering from gynecomastia takes off his shirt in the men's locker room? The can't-help-it-boob-guys feel insta-lust at the mere sight of those breasts? Similarly, they cannot help but feel the temptation and all those sinful thoughts when a fellow guy has bought himself a big pair of silicon boobs and is proudly parading those boobs in front of other guys? When a fat guy has male boobs of fat bigger than female B cups, again, some guys are instantly lusting after those boobs? What about guys who happen to be the ones with the big male boobs? Everytime they look at the mirror, they are aroused?

Each person is responsible for handling their own temptation. Blaming other people for it shows lack of self control and personal responsibility.

Well proudly advertise it, I was quite embarrased when they did it last week when we were at the local cafetaria. They have those magazines there and sometimes we read Donald Duck. I wasn't paying attention and all of a sudden the 6 year old had this filthy magazine and the youngest of 4 thought it was very interesting what he saw. Can I help it? He yelled it through the whole cafetaria, they shouldn't have put such dirty magazines there, what does he know? He thought it was very interesting. Actually he said/yelled: LOOK MOMMY SHE'S GOT THREE BOOPS!! They're not used to it. I left immediately and had to explain that that's not a very decent thing to say.

I support another mom, but they shouldn't do it for everyone to look at. The way some do it is not: I'm so interested in my kid.

A lot of people think it's disgusting.

Your whole argument boils down to this: "A lot" of people think that breastfeeding is disgusting. Therefore women who breastfeed in public should cover up.

Problem #1 with your argument: The law--at least where I live and I think our statute is fairly typical--says that the nursing mother can expose as much or as little of her breast(s) as she wants.

Problem #2 with your argument: You say that "a lot" of people find breastfeeding to be disgusting. How many is "a lot?" Do you have evidence that "a lot" means a majority or even a sizable minority of the population?

Problem #3 with your argument: I certainly don't think that breastfeeding is "disgusting." In fact, I believe that it is a beautiful thing. Why should your supposed right to not see something that you find to be "disgusting" trump my right to see something that I regard as being very beautiful?

The funny thing is a woman not breast feeding seem to expose more breast, than does that do breast feed. I hear more complaining about a woman breast feeding than the other.

Disgust is an inappropriate word for a Christian to use about a God given function. God uses it of Himself.
Isa 66:10-13
10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her,
all you who love her;
rejoice greatly with her,
all you who mourn over her.
11 For you will nurse and be satisfied
at her comforting breasts;
you will drink deeply
and delight in her overflowing abundance."

12 For this is what the Lord says:

"I will extend peace to her like a river,
and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream;
you will nurse and be carried on her arm
and dandled on her knees.
13 As a mother comforts her child,
so will I comfort you;
and you will be comforted over Jerusalem." NIV

Also as a metaphor to express God's care for Israel.
Isa 60:15-16
"Although you have been forsaken and hated,
with no one traveling through,
I will make you the everlasting pride
and the joy of all generations.
16 You will drink the milk of nations
and be nursed at royal breasts.
Then you will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior,
your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. NIV

Going to the bathroom is also a God given function, but it's still gross.

Problem 1-That law is probably for political correctness reasons.

Problem 2-There was a recent yahoo article about a woman being told in a restaurant to not breastfeed. I read the comments, and a lot of people in the comments section agree with me that women breastfeeding in public is disgusting.

Problem 3-Everybody is entitled to their opinions, but many people find the concept of seeing a woman breastfeed in a restaurant to be disgusting.

Strawman. I never mentioned the baby not being able to talk in my arguement.

What's so harmful about a woman covering up, so nobody has to see her breastfeeding? Your arguement is this-it's normal for the baby to do it, therefore, how dare you offend the baby and woman by not wanting to see it and making her cover up? You even compared me to a racist, which made zero sense.

Whatever dude, it isn't illegal to breast feed, so no matter how you feel about it, you can't control it. Women are going to breast feed, most women are going to be courteous and cover up, but for those rare few who don't, you're just going to have to get over it and tolerate it like I tolerate seeing gross people at the beach; don't look or look away. That you personally don't like it doesn't make it wrong. I don't like people whistling, does that mean I should have a baby fit over people doing it? No, I might walk away or even cover my ears, but it isn't my job to restrict the lives of others to suit me.

Begging the question

Not statistically valid

Problem 3-Everybody is entitled to their opinions, but many people find the concept of seeing a woman breastfeed in a restaurant to be disgusting.
Doesn't address the point.
