What I would say is that the Jewish symbol is not a hexagram but two entwined triangles. Yes, when seen in silhouette, you do see a hexagram, but the hexagram, per se, is not the symbol. And this leads me to my main point. It is the easy way out to look at something and say "OH, you use a pentagram or a hexagram so you must be a pagan (or occult, or evil, or (insert undesirable name here)).
Two entwined triangles also symbolizes "as above so below" which is one of the principles of Hermeticism. Obviously due to one triangle pointing up to the heavens and one triangle pointing down to Earth.
You can do a google image search of "as above so below" and see for yourself so many images of two triangles pointing up and down in different manner of arrangement, not just the usual hexagram.
The question now remains is Hermeticism good? No. Princicples of Hermeticism or Hermeticism is one of the things serious Occultists go for.
Even if you read the principle "as above so below" is a contradiction of the teachings of Jesus who taught through His parables that the Kingdom of God works in a principle opposite that of principles followed in this world.
I'd rather have you do the searching yourself in the library or in google than have me posting links for you. This way, you'll realize what I'm telling you is the truth.
