  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Focus. Your supposed oldest living ancestor is a worm! If humans came from that relative, that means you came from flatworm sex. Yes, that ancestor!

No, it doesn't.

When did I ever say that Humans' oldest living ancestor was any kind of worm? I never did. besides, wouldn't whatever the worm came from also count as an even older ancestor of humanity?

And secondly, how could Humans be a result of flatworm sex if the ancestor wasn't a flatworm?

Seriously, you are obviously not paying any attention anymore dad, or you are deliberately ignoring me. In either case, you are being tremendously rude.

Hey, this is not just about you, woman. Science makes claims.

"Flatworms Are Oldest Living Ancestors To Those Of Us..."

Flatworms Are Oldest Living Ancestors To Those Of Us With Right And Left Sides, Researchers Report In Science -- ScienceDaily

You see, if you have an ancestor, then what they reproduce determines what you are! About time you face the facts of your belief system.

besides, wouldn't whatever the worm came from also count as an even older ancestor of humanity?
In your fable, of course. But we were looking at a living ancestor!!!!! On a side note, fossils exist showing flatworms were just the same then as now!
And secondly, how could Humans be a result of flatworm sex if the ancestor wasn't a flatworm?

Not only do they claim it was but that it is the oldest living one! Behold the fable, people.

God help us all.

He stated He was the Father and the Son, not me. Learn to love the male gender.

Learn to know that male pronouns are the default in most languages. And that on several occasions in the bible female traits are applied to god (though it doesn't translate well into English and many versions edit them out). There are also of course cases in which masculine traits are applied to god, but generally descriptions are gender neutral beyond default male pronouns.

"Father" and "Son" aren't pronouns.

And Jesus taught us to pray, "Our Father, Who art in Heaven..."

I'm not going to call Him "Father" in my prayers, and an "It" in public.

Bottom line:

Jesus refereed to Him as "He." Is it therefore okay with you if we do the same?

Dear Readers, Because we are made in His likeness and He does have something better than sex waiting for us but you'll have to get to Heaven to find out what it is. Some say that without it, it's Hades. God Bless you.

In Love,
Aman

If gender was determine by organs, why do we have people with gender issues? So why are you asking about sexual organs?

I would think that, if your god claims to be male, but has no male sexual organs, nor the necessary chromosomal structure, then it might have a few gender issues...!

But, you folk keep telling us that man is made " in the image of god".....

So, if that's true and not just wishful thinking, does your god have ANY of the characteristics of either of the two sexes in which humans are 'made'...?

If not, why do people like you and AV get your panties in a bunch whenever your god us referred to as an 'it', just like most other gods are...?

Jesus was supposedly god in human form, god would have had to pick a gender at that point. Unless you want to claim that an omnipotent being can't be gender neutral or change gender at will

It's fine if you really want to call the god of the bible he, there isn't exactly a gender neutral pronoun in English which isn't dehumanizing. Just recognize that god is given female traits and called feminine pronouns in parts of the bible, so don't feel that god is restricted to the male gender.

Both men and women are made in the likeness of god, so it couldn't just have male organs if its image reflects both genders.

(When will the 'not a peer review' thingie come up?)

Doesn't matter. Evolution from a common ancestor means that any such ancestors are in the line that produced whatever is common! That means those who believe in godless evolution accept that flatworms having sex (whether they were the oldest living common ancestor or not doesn't matter) is responsible for your existence!

Ah, but they're not -- Man was made in the image of God, woman was made from man; Genesis 2:21-24

Nothing like a little Bible-based misogyny, is there?

Nope. The Messiah was to be male. God called Jesus His son. While traits may be associated with the female sex, they may have had their origins in God, and later were applied, because they seemed to fit the woman.

 Jesus was god in human form, even if god had no gender, humans do, so logically god would have had to pick one. Hermaphrodites weren't exactly treated well back then, and in many countries still aren't treated as people.
