What is this "chimp-like" creature that was discovered with tools? Anyone?

Are we still talking about the movie or reality?

Homo habiilis, translates as "handy man" used tools. Also, modern chimpanzees use tools.

You mean sticks found lying about.

Homo Habilis was probably a normal human or a normal ape. Not anything in between and the "tools" found were stone flakes.

If spears and other stone work tools aren't tools to you, then humans haven't used tools for a great deal of our existence. And no, they weren't just stone flakes, and Homo habilis (you have to make the second part, the species name, lowercase) was definitely not human and it certainly was not some chimp. Also, shaping stones by chipping away at them is making tools, those "stone flakes" aren't just lying around in conveniently useful shapes.

What's shale then?

I looked it up. Nothing mentions "spears" for Homo habilis. Just flakes of stone.

stone tools are heavy, they were often dropped as populations moved about, apes are nomadic, they wouldn't have always lived in an area where rocks easily used as tools could just be picked up off of the ground.

Bits and pieces of bones of maybe Homo habilis were found in Kenya and Tanzania. Not all over the world.

Here are your supposed "tools". The Oldowan tool set.

How obtuse.....deliberately..?

A tool is not so much defined by its composition, but more by the USE to which it is employed...

A hammer is just a hunk of metal and wood until someone picks it up and starts driving nails with it...

The "sticks lying around" that you referred to are exactly that........UNTIL someone decided to pick them up and put them to some purpose.....

If an ape did evolve into a man or split from a chimp to become a man or whatever the current consensus is, why would it not look like this? While driving cars and playing scrabble.

Those are two evolved gorillas and several evolved chimpanzees... from a movie or television show. Probably one of the original movies because of the quality of the makeup. Notice the human proportions. Humans are apes, but not shaped like other apes.

The futures of gorillas and chimpanzees are unknown, but it is unlikely that they change so significantly towards the appearance of humans.

Homo Habilis is equally likely to to a normal human or a normal ape? Does it have so many shared features you can tell which memebr of the two (distinctly seperate) species it was? ;)

.

No. Chimps create tools. And they do it in context of a priori planning as well. For example, they are known to take an appropriate stick and manipulate it to facilitate catching certain organisms. And they then take these tools with them to the hunting location to use them.

So, they plan. They create tools. They use tools.

Are you maybe going to learn what the ToE actually says some day, or continue making an example of yourself?

He will continue making an example of himself, how else can he get to feel persecuted.
If he acts foolishly and people deride him he can tell himself they're doing it because he's a Christian, the fact that he's being a fool passes him by completely.

I was always told there was no such thing as a dumb question. I merely asked a question. (The bible actually calls those that do not believe it, fools.)

If you are posting just to call people names, perhaps you should just not post a reply.

Another question is, since apes don't have language, why would they need to develop one and how?

I once had a dog that I taught to walk on his hind legs.

We have presented several species as hominid transitionals. Are you going to tell us what features these species are missing that a true transitional would have, and why?

So in your opinion, do you think that someday we will have a real planet of the apes with evolved chimps or will chimps always be animals? (Even though it's been supposedly millions of years since they have been around. 15-20 million?)

Also, domestic cats open doors with their paws/claws and can be trained to go to the bathroom in and flush toilets. Will they someday have a more human hand with five digits?
