No, I'm sorry, but I get it. A partner looking at inappropriate contentography is different to an affair, but just as painful and soul-shocking. The women in inappropriate content are very often so completely removed from reality there's no hope of 'competing' with them. It smashes your self-esteem.
Yes not to mention the things brought into the marital bed because normal sex is no longer interesting. it is all about feeding an addiction. Nothing to do with love or actually nurturing a relationship.

I completely see her point. Having been in a relationship with a inappropriate content addict myself I know all the things it can entail that she was too polite to bring into it. inappropriate content leads to other things that can easily bring a STD home among other things. inappropriate content addiction rarely is just inappropriate content. It's a launching pad.

I'm anti-inappropriate content. I was just disturbed by the fact that she'd rather have her husband have an affair than to look at inappropriate content. How about doing neither?

I saw a documentary on how inappropriate content is really made once, and it made my stomach turn. The adults in this film were beaten and locked in a house if they didn't "produce" for the film. All inappropriate content addict should have to watch that film--they'd probably never want to look at inappropriate content again.

Again, I see her point. Having an affair can be easier for some women to deal with rather than inappropriate content & all it can bring into the relationship.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

inappropriate content & it's effects have an unknown factor that makes it difficult to deal with along with the other things it can bring into the house. Unless you have lived it, it is difficult to understand. Disagree or not, it does not take away from the fact that there are women that feel this way.

My 2nd husband (and boyfriends' I've had in the past) looked at inappropriate content. I never took it personally. I just thought it was weird that a married man would want to look at inappropriate content. (Why would you want to look at a woman you don't know when I'm right here?) Anyway, I always put the blame on him rather than thinking something was wrong with me.
Once I saw that documentary, I was really sickened by the inappropriate content industry. It was around that time that my husband either stopped looking at it or went underground with it--cuz I never saw him with anything like that again.

True inappropriate content addicts usually take it further than looking. It's a launching pad. If I was sitting with you I could go into more detail but I can't here.

I think a married couple's sex life suffers--if the guy chooses that out-let over his wife. (I think that may be what happened to me.) I thought it was odd that my husband would look at inappropriate content, but showed very little interest in sex. I used to think that inappropriate content would increase sexual interest, but I think it actually decreased it.

I agree--not the place to discuss this.

I never had an issue with quantity but quality. If you get my drift.

Im a little suprised to see how some of the posters in this thread are reacting to the idea of their spouses watching inappropriate content. I suppose im just jaded on subject because of the culture i grew up in, but married guys and even other women watching inappropriate content has always come off as normal and expected to me. I don't mean watching it with their spouses either. They even talk about it freely without a care in the world, From what i can tell by looking at their browser history they're pretty much living out their fantasies since the girls in the inappropriate content are very similar to their wives. I dont condone it of course despite my own addiction, but im a little suprised to see that some are this shaken up.

On the other hand after reading the responses i guess I can empathize. I can see how some could take it personally and feel discouraged.

I know a few folks hate it when I reference Orthodoxy, but, the Lord gave me an insight one day when I was reading an article online about inappropriate content addiction in a thread on another forum. The Lord told me that inappropriate content is a REVERSE ICON. The Holy Spirit gave me that insight, and I've kept it with me whenever these topics pop up. It truly is.

For Orthodox, icons aren't just pretty pictures or cool decorations of saints, they are WINDOWS INTO HEAVEN. They are an ideal. Their idyllic representation of holiness, sanctity, a person made perfect in grace through Christ. The icon shows the best of mankind and the work of theosis in action. It is an endgame we all dream of--sainthood.

inappropriate content is a reverse icon. It displays humanity in its lowest base degradation. It is a sad perversion of the human condition....a twisting of something beautiful and a sick celebration of the Fall.

We must all do our utmost to pray for those with inappropriate content addiction and all addictions. We mustn't treat them as freaks or villains, but folks who are sick patients needing the Medicine of Immortality--the Eucharist, and the healing gauze of Confession.

I only read the one about what it can do to your brain. It's more shocking than I thought it was. So many young kids, it's abuse actually.
Here a testimony of someone from CF that was delivered from it:

Whether it's a sin is between you and God but at the risk of getting banned or being called a troll.....

Come on!!, some of you guys make a huge deal out of it. I know of couples that watch inappropriate content individually or together and they live perfectly happy lives. They're just images, no matter how good they look they cannot compete with flesh and blood.

If my mate where to prefer inappropriate content to me I would think it speaks more of how little I mean to her than of how much inappropriate content means to her. If you got a problem with it maybe being open about it with your partner will solve it, if it doesn't then maybe there's some other underlying issues that need to be addressed.

And I know for a fact that most females like inappropriate content as much as us guys, they're just not as open about it as we are.

God bless you all.
