This is the only acceptable orthodox and historic Christian view, shared by all truly orthodox Christians.
Unfortunately for 'orthodoxy', it disagrees with all the OT and all of the NT, especially Jesus, Paul, John, Peter, James, Jude, etc.
Read the book of Hebrews to really start with since it is written:
Called of God an high priest
after the order of Melchisedec. Hebrews 5:10
Of whom
we have many things to say, and
hard to be uttered,
seeing ye are dull of hearing. Hebrews 5:11
For
when for the time ye ought to be teachers,
ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and
are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Hebrews 5:12
For every one that useth milk
is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. Hebrews 5:13
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age,
even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:14
In book of Exodus, after the people slew the Lamb per family and applied the blood...
...did they go through the "red sea", just as the Laver, even water mingled with blood?
...was their past now gone behind them, buried in the red sea?
...were they taken through a wilderness where manna, the bread of heaven fell, just as there is a table of shewbread, daily, preserved upon the 7th Day, renewed?
...were they called forth to be a Light to the Gentiles, a City set on a hill, a peculiar and chosen people?, even as the 7 branch candlestick?
...were they called before God, to prayer and prepare three days, as there is the Altar of incense where the smell arises unto God, communion with God?
...were they finally given the Law of God and an Ark and a Mercy Seat?
...all this before they could enter the promised Land...
Brother, this pattern is through the Whole of Scripture.
