Altar kiss should be a quick peck....not French kissing or making out in church!

Yeah, please don't do that. Unless it's one of them new fangled lesbian weddings. Lol.

Is there a drastic difference between a kiss shared by two dating sweethearts
And the kiss that happens at the altar when a pastor says "you may kiss the bride"?

I'm looking for opinions but you can quote textbook fact and biblical verse

Probably not.
But the kiss at the alter pretty much means that you two have now sealed the deal in front of God.

The only difference I know of is one kiss is done in private, the other in front of dozens or hundreds of people. Make it good.

[Sorry, I don't have a scripture for this.]

"26 Greet all God’s people with a holy kiss." 1 Thessalonians 5:26

Kissing wasn't designed by God as some sort of "romantic only" activity. Humans chose to designate it as that due to cultural pressures. Some cultures don't kiss at all. In some cultures, mothers still feed their children by chewing up food and spitting it into the baby's mouth, kind of like a bird would. In some countries, women might greet each other with kisses on the cheek. Parents often kiss their children. Nothing special happens at the wedding kiss; it's merely a symbol that the pastor has finished his speal :p . Frankly, if it wasn't for people being afraid of getting close to foul smelling or poor oral hygiene individuals, there might be a lot of cultures that would kiss on a regular basis as a greeting or etc.

From my experience? Nope.

Considering that marriage has ended though, I shouldn't make a generalization. Maybe the "wedding kiss" didn't feel special because the marriage wasn't meant to be? It was kind of like drinking a flat soda.
