Lets keep it focused. Not anti-gay, anti-sin. He listed many sins, one of which some took offense too. He is not anti-gay, I believe he treats all sinners the same, because he is one.
And for those of us who don't believe it's a sin? What should we call it? This is just a matter of semantics. Maybe anti-homosexuality would be better.
They are forcing people to be silent about their beliefs, or they will harm them financially.
Silent? No. The company is controlling its own platform. No problem there.

I was back there then myself.

No, he probably didn't hear any black people complaining within his earshot.

You have to understand: For a black person in the South back then, having a white person around you was like being on a camping trip and having a bear wander into your camp.

You don't do or say anything that might upset the bear, because the bear will kill you with impunity.

That was exactly the situation black people had to deal with when around any white person in the South in those days, very literally. He could have raised his hoe and killed a black man in the field and there would not have been so much as an arrest.

Believe, me, I understand. I used to hang around with a black man who is now 72 years old - I heard the stories first-hand. He did his Air Force basic training down in Mississippi in 1960 and for him, being from upstate NY, that was his first encounter with institutionalized racism. He told me that was the difference between North and South at that time - that, when you were in the South, the "rules" were plainly laid out. In the North, the racism was more subversive.

Christians force their beliefs down people's throats by fighting against LGBT rights. LGBT people aren't shoving anything down anyone's throats by wanting equal rights. Live your faith and stop making it our business.

Get used to it...? Do you think boycotting is a new idea? You've been fighting for decades and you're losing.
No, we are winning, it is those who cjhoose to ignore God that are losing in the end

Except for the fact that someone might pass restrictive laws that affect you, I don't know why you'd care what a Christian called a sin.

Theologically speaking, your separate acts are irrelevant unless you're a believer. "Commit a sin" is not a theologically meaningful phrase regarding an unbeliever.

I'm glad you feel that way. It'll make the loss easier to bear. Just like the Church did for poor people in the Middle Ages.

I don't really care. It's just a matter of it seeming silly for me to think of his position as "anti-sin."

Maybe if it happened more often, it'd get more press.

As it is, my experience with the LGBT community has been acceptance of differing views unless they're faced with hostility. But this should be excepted; when someone says something to/about you that you know to be patently untrue, it's human nature to respond, sometimes angrily. And responses aren't "attacks on Christianity" in that sense.

There are notable exceptions, of course, as there are with any group of people. But those exceptions do not constitute the whole LGBT population, which I think many people on the opposition don't understand or won't acknowledge.

There is a huge tendency of Americans of all stripes to act like entitled jerks.

But Christians aren't supposed to act like jerks, whether American or not.

'Duck Dynasty' family stands by suspended patriarch - CNN.com

I found the letter of protest:
'Duck Dynasty' family stands by suspended patriarch - CNN.com

"Mr. Robertson claims that, from what he saw, African Americans were happier under Jim Crow. What he didn't see were lynching and beatings of black men and women for attempting to vote or simply walking down the street,"
Exactly. He didn't see it. Him not seeing it, does not make his statement racist. Ignorance is not racism, but racism is seeded in ignorance.
The real problem is a non-AA is saying a time of trouble was the best time for black society, that now the black society is in shambles is racist, the biggest reason it's upsetting is it's true.

"And his offensive claims about gay people fly in the face of science. In fact, it's important to note that every single leading medical organization in the country has said that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being LGBT -- it's not a choice, and to suggest otherwise is dangerous."
Offensive claims? I see nothing offensive in his statement. is claims is supported by his book of religion, called the Bible.

Science has nothing to do with this, this is religion.

I think we need to define what is offensive and what is not. Stating ones beliefs without demeaning others is not offensive.
Name calling, belittling, demeaning is offensive.
Alec Baldwin calling someone a gay slur is directly offensive, but almost nothing was heard about it from liberal groups.
PR says something about sin that includes gays, sets off outrage.
I think its more about the political idealogy behind the person than what was said.

Absolutely and ITA!!!!!! And I'm tired of their extremely outdated notion that it should be every woman's aim to get married, have babies, and let the husband have the final say, even in matters they have no clue about, while the wife has all the knowledge.

I am asexual due to having a very horrid experience being involved with a man who turned out to be a sociopath, a narcissist and compulsive liar. I have no interest whatsoever in being "in a relationship" much less marrying and taking a chance of winding up in that same situation again (no one who hasn't "been there" has a clue what it's like being involved with a sociopath - even most pyschologists don't understand it). I'm sure the "Christian community" would think I'm as abnormal as they think the LGBT community is. So be it.

Still silenced at least for now. I think the wisdom of bringing him back will sink into the sponsors, the calls and petitions are now over a million, I think business will understand the numbers

I have only been able to find one article that mentions any petition and I clicked on the link and its up to 80,000. I don't know about the millions of phone calls though.

Its also not going to work in his favor the the NAACP and The Human Rights Campaign have written a joint letter to the president of A & E expressing their outrage and deep concern . I'm pretty sure they will take those organizations concerns into account. I would not want them speaking out negativley against my network for sure .

In my company, either statement will get a person fired:

"I don't like gays."
"I don't like Christians."

I don't know about my company.

BUT I'm positive make those statements to a customer will get you fired.

And this case is one step farther on the 'representing the company' scale.

Great links. You should share those in the other Phil Robertson threads that are here. This way it drums more support in the event someone doesn't read this one.

Christians have for too long allowed the gay agenda to intimidate networks, businesses, into censoring Christians thoughts and speech concerning the Bible, Sodomy, and one's personal faith based opinion of that.
Phil Robertson humbled himself and spoke of his sinful past in the GQ interview. And he shared his Christian opinion on a great number of other sins besides Homosexuality.
Isn't it interesting though that A&E doesn't feel threatened by the adulterers who threaten them? Or the pedophiles, or the Beastophiles? Just the gays.

eHarmony, a private Christians only dating site was threatened by gays who demanded to be allowed as members. Now the owner regrets his decision to permit gays to intimidate him and allow them entry.

Christians outnumber homosexuals in this country and in the world at large.
Its time we stand for the values God instills and refuse the threat of a group that whines about being bullied, and yet is more than ready to bully.
That scream for tolerance and yet have no tolerance for the religious.

God damned the unrepentant homosexual. And they hate Christians for reminding them of that.

UPDATE: 113 K Sign Petition Demanding 'Duck Dynasty' Patriarch Return

And I am on of those 113 K who signed that petition. I proudly signed the IStandWithPhil.com petition in support of Phil Robertson. FYI, here is another petition I signed: Stand with Phil Robertson and Duck Dynasty. It was put out by the National Organization for Marriage Education Fund. And I also signed this petition on Change.org, put out by National Report: Fans of America, Freedom and Duck Dynasty: Contact A&E to Save Duck Dynasty. Thank you, Mike Huckabee, for the following graphic. It's now proudly displayed on my Facebook profile.

One of the guys I played rugby with grew up in the South. From my fathers generation, e.g. was an airman in WW II. He remembers his father walking the Black man who did handyman work for them home, at least when it was a long day. It was a potentially fatal mistake for a black man to be in a white neighborhood after dark.

Sometimes you need a bear to keep the other bears away.

Just putting the word out to all those who are in support of Phil Robertson.

Stand with Phil And Support Free Speech Facebook event, by Mike Huckabee.

And FYI, I tried to send out a few invites to this event to some of my family and friends on FB and I was blocked from doing so. I was told to only send out invites to people I knew who would be interested in this event. But that's what I was doing, Facebook PC police!!! Geez... So, I shared the event on my Facebook profile instead. Like it was said when I was growing up - "There's more than one way to skin a cat!" :D

*I did let Mike Huckabee know that the powers that be on Facebook stopped me from sending out invites.*

A message posted by Mike Huckabee yesterday at 9:21 a.m.:

Phil Robertson of DD isn't the only one censored by the media thought police. When we put up an event page to show support for our pal Phil , FB blocked access to the page! What is happening to free speech for Christians? Have you seen the stuff FB allows when people attack me because of my faith? I allow the attacks on me on my own page. But when we try to show support for a Christian brother FB pulls the entire page! It's time to demand that 'tolerance' includes tolerance for Christians too!

A.Baldwin(Liberal) uses a direct gay slur and gets little attention, this guy(Conservative) includes homosexuality in a list and no one can forget it.
Actually that got a lot of attention and Alec Baldwin was fired by MSNBC for it.

Live it yes, force it down my throat no. Sorry but I am tired of this and many nothers are as well so you had better get used to the idea that many are learning the value of not buying products opr watching shows and we will fight
And people are even more tired of religious conservatives shoving their archaic views down everyone's throat and expecting those who disagree with those beliefs to abide by them. This is a secular country. Don't like gays, don't associate with them. But you have no authority to dictate their lives.
