  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is that like in Star Trek when they realise they can save the person with some gadget of the week which would be handy to have again next week but they conveniently forget about it?

Something like that.

Something like that.

You do realise that the only reason that sort of thing is needed is because story writers have put themselves in a corner they can't escape from without some ridiculous thing? Is that what you are claiming a miracle is?

BTW, back in the olden days, we had miracles like God's booming voice from heaven, angels appearing flying down from the sky and Jesus walking on water. Why doesn't this kind of miracle happen any more? Why is it only images appearing on walls, or on toast, or in fences?

No, I sure don't.
Is that what you are claiming a miracle is?
If you don't know what a miracle is, may I suggest you dispense with trying to convince us we don't either?
BTW, back in the olden days, we had miracles like God's booming voice from heaven, angels appearing flying down from the sky and Jesus walking on water.
No, you didn't.

Israel did.

Remember Israel?

We call it the "Promised Land."
Why doesn't this kind of miracle happen any more?
One word: dispensationalism.
Why is it only images appearing on walls, or on toast, or in fences?
Rorschach?

Well, you do now, doncha?

I was going by what you said, when you agreed with me that it was the same as "in Star Trek when they realise they can save the person with some gadget of the week which would be handy to have again next week but they conveniently forget about it?"

Oh, are you reduced to quibbling over words now instead of addressing the point? I'll take that as conceding the point, because surely if you had a counter argument you would have used it.

One word: dispensationalism.

I think a better explanation is: an increased knowledge of how the world works.

And dispensationalism would be: an excuse trotted out to explain why all these amazing things happened in the Bible just don't happen anymore.

Rorschach?

Maybe he forgot about it?

And maybe God forgot that, being able to work magic and all that, he didn't need to bother with a boat to save Noah and all the animals from the flood. And maybe he also forgot that if he really wanted to get rid of all the naughty people he could do it without a flood at all.

Read it again, it needed a steel frame to keep it together otherwise it would have broken it's back.
Without iron straps around the ark the wood would not have taken the strain.

Why do you all go to lying creationist sites to get your information? what do you expect them to say?
they are only ever going to tell you what they want you to believe to them the truth means nothing.
Creationism for those site are a Business. they know they can tell you anything and you will all believe it,
they feed it to you and you eat it all up.
Why don't you people ever check to see if what they are telling you is the truth? you owe it to your God to check.

Double-talk, which is all you have. Your burecrats required it.

"
Unlike Noah, one would think, Huibers had to have his ark conform to a vast array of rules and regulations. For example, fire-safety standards meant having to apply three coats of fire-retardant varnish. Also, a special ‘mooring anchor’ had to be installed, so as to qualify the construction as a ‘building (house boat), rather than a vessel.2
Bureaucracy was also the reason for having to build it on floating steel barges as well as to install a heavy steel reinforcing frame. Lest critics claim that this is proof that it would have been impossible to build a wooden vessel that size, Huibers, an experienced worker with wood, says it would actually have been much easier to make a wooden ark"

Didn't bother to mention that did you.

So what evidence would falsify a recent global flood?
