When God spoke the earth into existence as old as it was, it didn't refuse to obey.

This earth was created mature.

That means this earth was created with the ability to perform that which was expected.

Why so much maturity as 4.5 billion years is the Creator's choice.

I personally suspect it has something to do with the anthropic principle; but I don't know.

In any event, whether 4.5 billion years or 20 years, or even 1/10 second ... that would constitute embedded age.

So it's just a matter of degrees.

Adam was about 30 years old the day he was created.

The earth around 4.57 billion.

If God is truly a timeless being, what difference does it make whether it takes six days or six years or six eons? Waiting is only a problem when you're bound by time. God isn't. It makes absolutely no difference to him whether the star takes a million year to form or whether it's ready to go right out the box. It's all the same.

Besides, he did 'wait', even if you take the story as literal as it can be taken. He did it in six days, when he obviously could have done it all instantaneously, if he wanted to.
