I was talking about a literal reading of Genesis. But I would go as far as to say that there is as much evidence for a 6-day creation 6,000 years ago as there is for what you say above. However, the evidence against what you say is little and the same cannot be said about YEC.

It is a literal reading in so much that Genesis 1 is the description of the physical world and Genesis 2 for the spiritual.

There is nothing in the Bible that states the creation was 6,000 years ago.

That is absolutely true. The order in which things are created in Genesis 1 does not correspond to the order in which they appear in the fossil record. Even the day, night and plants were created before the sun in Genesis 1.

That's because the flood deposited the fossils. Not millions of years of top soil.
