Dear Readers, the excuse above is used every time someone declares honestly that he or she no longer adheres to the Christian religion. It is also a logical fallacy known as "no true Scotsman". It is an attempt to retain their assertion that once someone knows Jesus, he/she will never look back. Instead of rejecting the universal claim that all Christians remain Christians eternally, they simply say that the people who claim to have been Christians were never Christians to begin with: they were not true Christians.

This is not only a logical fallacy, but also breaks the rules of the forum. Specifically this rule:

● Do not state or imply that another member or group of members who have identified themselves as Christian are not Christian.

I've had fanatical Christians tell me that the only proof of a True[SUP]TM[/SUP] Christian is dying without deconverting. That means there are no proven, living Christians. You're most certainly entitled to your opinion.

The difference is though, I can back my term up with Documentation; you can't, unless you go outside of accepted peer-reviewed papers to do so.

And in fact, I believe your science says just the opposite.

The Bible defines a fool as someone who says in his heart: There is no God; whereas science says the heart can't talk or think.

Thus your "fool" is different than how the Bible defines it.
