Send her a letter. Tell her how Joseph snatched Peter's keys. That just might make her bosom burn.

You asked our opinion of her comment, and I gave it.

And if you noticed, I wasn't offended at all by her thinking our religion was false, mad, or otherwise.

We are not easily offended by personal opinions. But, bearing false witness which is what mostly occurs here is another story, because it is a sin, and that kind of sin is offensive, not just to us either, but to GOD ALMIGHTY HIMSELF. Hence, why those like me condemn it.

Holiness to the Lord", meaning Jesus Christ, what does the statue of Moroni represent to the LDS (and not to others)?

The number three is the number of unity....

Father, Son, Holy Ghost
Proton, electron, neutron
Dad, mother, child

So I believe that the angels were of groups of three...

Michael - Archangel... A warrior angel
Gabriel - Archangel... A heralding angel
Lucifer - Archangel... A worshiping angel

And when Lucifer rebelled did not he take a third of the angels with him?

Which makes Islam more believable then Mormonism. At least the word came from a correct source, which would be Gabriel. As to Moroni for all I know he could be a demonic spirit.... But as to receiving scripture from Angels Paul said...

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. - Galatians 1:8

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: - Galatians 1:6

And what happens to the accursed?

Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. -Jeremiah 17: 5-6

A number of years back our Singles Sunday School class had a visit form a Mormon (Ken Hightower) who did not identify himself as such. He attended a class taught by one of our singles (Stan).

After the class Ken wrote a letter [click to see the letter]to the class teacher seeking to recruit him to Mormonism. The class teacher passed the letter on to me.

Later, I arranged a meeting with this Mormon. I asked him if he had been proselytizing members of our church. He said, "Absolutely not." At that time I took his letter out of my pocket and said, "Would you like me to read you your recent letter to Stan?"

He turned beet red and apologized.

I told him that he was welcome to propagate his views off our property and outside our meetings, but if he thought we'd allow him to come to our meetings to recruit people to Mormonism, he was sadly mistaken. He apologized.

Three years later the same guy attended a Bible Study sponsored by our class and tried to do a similar thing.

====

Is it ethical to proselytize like Ken did?

I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:6-10 NASB)

Throwing out distraction tactics again, because you do not want to address the question I asked? You are consistent!

The original statement made was that our buildings are represented by the name of Jesus Christ. You attempted to show that wrong by posting the familiar stature of Moroni on top the spires of our temples, as if it represented something other than Jesus Christ. Besides the fact that our temples all have the words engraved at the entrance: "House of the Lord. Holiness to the Lord", meaning Jesus Christ, what does the statue of Moroni represent to the LDS (and not to others)?

Mormon enemy,

If you died today and God asked you: why should I save you?
What would you say?

I believed on you Lord, and strived to follow your ways in spirit and action enduring to the end. Always Faithful, Semper Fi.

He will say "Well done through good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things".

Further, we are not your "enemy", unless you bear false witness of us.
For to do so you make yourself an enemy of God. God is the God of Truth, Right, Goodness, Love, Charity, Honesty, etc., not those who bear falsely of others. And it's the primary reason we post here, because of all the false witness of our faith going on.

Start a thread and I'll play with you.
I would be happy if you simply answered my question to you and Der Alter, on this thread, instead of shaking the pieces off of the game board when you are in check.

I do not claim to have extensive knowledge and understandings to enter a debate. I do understand basics, and one of those basics is that the things of God must be understood by the seeker through learning directly from the Spirit, on the things he reads in the bible. So "debate" on another thread (or anywhere else) would not fulfill that criteria. But being honest with yourself and with others is a good step to gaining the Spirit's presence and influence, in application to the simple question I imposed on you.

And just what does it represent?

A historical tour through LDS temple Angel Moroni statues | Deseret News

The idea to use the prophet from the Book of Mormon to top the temple came from sculptor Cyrus Dallin. LDS Church President Wilford Woodruff had asked Dallin to create something for the central spire of the Salt Lake Temple, so Dallin searched through LDS scripture for inspiration. Dallin decided to sculpt Moroni because he believed Moroni was a good representation of the restoration of the gospel.

Hoop te do.

A cross better represents the real gospel.

We post here to spin and spread Mormonism.

Actually we don't. We post here almost entirely to correct the bearing false witness that occurs against us.

Of course, we don't pretend people like you will be convinced of anything, but those who are still objective and fair like Skylark and a couple others, and those who might pop in will understand and see the contrast between us.

One doesn't have to agree with one another to be honest of one another.
It would be nice if more who claimed to be Christian understood that.

What has this to do with the OP topic?
<edit>
God will not ask that question. In His presence, we will either be free of any and all guilt because of our true faith in His Son, and be at peace in His presence, ... or we will be so racked up with guilt in His presence that we will beg to be hidden from His sight, even to be buried by a great mountain. There is no plea bargining in Heaven.

Good and true friends are hard to come by these days. Not such a good idea to declare one an enemy that just might be willing to lay his life down for you or your family.

I'll kick som Islamic jihadist butt for your family as well. But I'm not going to call you a friend of the One who laid His life down for us because you're angel moron brought another gospel, a counterfeit one. I can live, work and go to war along aside Mormons but not bid them Godspeed. I am forbidden to do so.

I truly appreciate any honest and genuine concerns for my welfare. I think what matters is if He calls me His Friend.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (New Testament, John, John 15)

All things are possible to him that has faith, even doing whatsoever He has commanded us to do.

Peace
