Thats not discrimination. A christian does not think japanese, does not care for japan, is not part of our culture. A christian is not loyal to the Tenno nor to our empire. Would you put someone into charge who doesn't care about you and your nation? I wouldn't. Christians can live in Japan and practice free their religion. But they are outside our society.

Akira, greetings to you. I have read through your replies on this thread and receive an impression that is not laudable. Any good person has patriotism and values their nation and people and culture. It is good to be patriotic. When this patriotism and love of country makes the culture and nation their "god", they run into grave problems. It develops into a pride and arrogance that becomes a downfall. I read your replies and think, "This must have been, in a measure, the type of thinking that led Japan to make that disastrous blunder on December 7, 1941." There seemed to be thinking of god-like superiority that made a people so foolish as to do that. You are a young man, maybe you will wise up as you mature and realize there is the Creator God, and "pride" is one of the things God hates.

i respect you and your believes and i would be happy if you respect our culture as well. It is highly insulting if you believe that your "creator god" has more value than our gods.

Remember, you have come into the Baptist forum and you received honest answers. I leave you with these words when Paul spoke the word of God to those not Christian:

“Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, "Athenians, I see how extremely religious you are in every way. For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. From one ancestor he made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, so that they would search for God and perhaps grope for him and find him—though indeed he is not far from each one of us. For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’ Since we are God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold, or silver, or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals. While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead."” (Ac 17:22-31 NRSV)

Just keep in mind, God is not pacing the halls of heaven wringing His hands over the reprobates, those who have been passed over. We worship a majestic God who is saving his own out of all nations and peoples and He gets the glory and praise.
