• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You are misusing the terms. You also need to understand the Null Hypothesis.
Hey you model stuff based on a certain state. What would make your same state past false?? You be cornered missy.

But there HAVE been attempts at falsification of the consistency of the universe.
Name one.

In fact, Christian scholars and scientists have been emphasizing that fact about creation for many centuries now. ("A rational God has created a rational universe!")
Never even heard that said. Where do you dredge up your little 'quotes' from?

So how ironic that you are trying to denying what Biblical theology has long accepted and taught.
I do not give a rat's back door about 'theology'. I am concerned about God's revealed word to man.

Then you admit the basis for all science claims about the past cannot be falsified!

They most certainly can be. Disagreement between different isotope pairs would be one falsification.

So what would falsify the split? What evidence, if found, would convince you that the Earth had a history in the billions of years? Or do you admit that your fantasies are unfalsifiable?

No, that would not even be related! No one posits some change IN this present state or IT"S decay rates. Get a handle on this. So..if a past was a different (not tweaked same state)--how could you know? In what way can your claim it was the same be proven false exactly? Remember that no change IN this state would do it.

So what would falsify the split?

If life was the same pre flood, possibly even in earliest Egypt or Sumer. No long lives, no spirits living with men, if man could have fossilized, etc etc...

OK. How about the Michelson-Morley experiment.

How about the comparisons of red-shift and paralax showing consistency, past-and-present, for the laws of physics?

Obscure Biblical theologians such as the Apostle Paul, Augustine, and more recent fundamentalists like Francis Schaefer.

NEWS FLASH: That is what Biblical theology is all about: the study of what God has revealed to man.

So be careful what you blaspheme with your rodent's posterior cursing. Matthew 15:11 said it best:

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

You kidding?

They tried to show there was no aether, no? Their experiment was on a mounted on a stone slab here on earth! In what way does that represent the far edges of the universe???

How about the comparisons of red-shift and paralax?
How about them!?

I don't recall Paul talking about that. Chapter and verse? :)

Then stop wasting time and start simply believing what He wrote rather than explaining it away. Such is the kingdom of heaven.

Not all of us think the Christian life requires deliberate stupidity.
Man's wisdom is foolishness to God. Man's wisdom is from below, God's is from above. If we lack wisdom God is the One that can give it.

And some kinds of foolishness are foolish to BOTH man and God.

Despite those who imply it, foolishness is NOT a fruit of the Spirit.
Hey, to those who smoke evolution rather than a direct creation, and claim they don't inhale, I say it matters little what they say.

When God spoke of unbelief, He did not mean of Darwin, I kid you not.

Not all of us take that verse so completely literally that we consider critical thinking to be bad.
The devil and modern education promote thinking critical of God and His word. That is critically ill thinking!

Are you serious? How pitiful. What a sad, little god you are describing.

Yes, that was enough to prompt an addition to my IGNORE LIST.

The Book of Proverbs says it all.

With all the pettiness and insecurities of his fan club -- truly, a God made in Man's own image ("man" being used in a loose sense of the word here)
